In short, if judges have that authority, then we have no reason to vote. Nor do we have any reason to pay attention to public affairs. Our republic, already mostly subsumed by deep state tyranny, would degenerate into a total farce.<\/p>\n<p>Fortunately, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/elon-musk-announces-move-former-dem-rep-goes-far-unhinged-rant-live-tv\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Elon Musk<\/a>, owner of the social media platform X and head of Trump&rsquo;s Department of Government Efficiency, completed a successful rearguard action on Tuesday when a federal appeals court temporarily smacked down an overbearing district judge.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecrimson.com\/article\/2025\/3\/20\/theodore-chuang-doge-usaid-ruling\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Harvard Crimson<\/a>, federal judge Theodore D. Chuang, part of Harvard University&rsquo;s Board of Overseers &mdash; a notable fact that highlights the incestuous nature of the American ruling class &mdash; ruled that Musk likely acted in an unconstitutional manner when he spearheaded Trump&rsquo;s initiative to shut down the United States Agency for International Development in February.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mdd.uscourts.gov\/theodore-d-chuang-district-judge\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Chuang<\/a> serves as a U.S. District Judge for the District of Maryland. Health and Human Services Secretary <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-rfk-jr-reveals-miracle-god-spent-20-years-knees-praying-morning\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Robert F. Kennedy Jr.<\/a> called the agency &ldquo;sinister,&rdquo; and for good reasons.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, in a broader sense, Tuesday&rsquo;s temporary stay slowed the momentum of a judicial coup against Trump.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this month, for instance, U.S. District Judge <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/white-house-officials-quick-move-thwarts-obama-appointed-judges-attempt-halt-deportation-illegal-gangsters\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">James Boasberg<\/a> &mdash; another Obama appointee &mdash; usurped presidential authority by presuming to order the return of two deportation flights filled with Venezuelan Tren de Aragua illegal alien gang members, though <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/white-house-officials-quick-move-thwarts-obama-appointed-judges-attempt-halt-deportation-illegal-gangsters\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trump administration officials<\/a> made sure that the flights left U.S. airspace anyway.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, we want <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">illegal alien criminals deported<\/a>, and we want USAID shuttered.<\/p>\n<p>The real issue, however, involves something much deeper than our policy preferences. After all the courtroom wrangling, all the orders and appeals, the fact remains that <em>we voted for those things<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Trump pledged deportations and the destruction of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/operation-mockingbird-doge-exposing-deep-state-corruption\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">deep state<\/a> &mdash; both of which fall well within his constitutional authority.<\/p>\n<p>Just as the president can neither diminish Congress&rsquo; authority under the Constitution nor order the Supreme Court to rule as he prefers, neither can those branches infringe upon the presidency<\/p>\n<p>The Constitution has very specific remedies for extreme cases of abuse. And the only abuse in this case has come from the courts. Fortunately, Elon Musk successfully intervened on Tuesday when a federal appeals court temporarily overturned an overreaching district judge&#8217;s decision. Last week, Judge Theodore D. Chuang ruled that Musk likely acted unconstitutionally in leading Trump&#8217;s initiative to shut down the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) in February\u2014a ruling that underscores the close ties within America&#8217;s ruling class since Chuang is part of Harvard University&#8217;s Board of Overseers and was appointed by former President Barack Obama in 2013.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday on X (formerly Twitter), journalist Nick Sortor shared a screenshot showing the appeals court&#8217;s decision to reverse Chuang&#8217;s order: \u201cOn the defendants\u2019 motion for an administrative stay,\u201d stated the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, \u201cthe court orders that the district court\u2019s preliminary injunction dated March 18, 2025&#8230; be stayed until March 27.\u201d Sortor also mentioned that further rulings could follow later this week.<\/p>\n<p>The &#8220;defendants&#8221; here refer to Musk and DOGE; while this temporary stay does not equate to a permanent victory, it represents progress nonetheless. Importantly, USAID should never revert to its previous form\u2014Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has labeled it &#8220;sinister,&#8221; which is justified given its history.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, this temporary stay has hindered judicial overreach against Trump; earlier this month another Obama appointee attempted to override presidential authority regarding deportation flights filled with illegal gang members from Venezuela\u2014though those flights ultimately departed as planned.<\/p>\n<p>The core issue transcends policy preferences; we voted for these actions based on Trump&#8217;s promises regarding deportations and dismantling deep state operations\u2014all within his constitutional rights.
