RNC Chairman Michael Whatley emphasized the importance of openness in the voter registration process, stating that voters have the right to know their states are managing these lists accurately. Roll Oversight\">clean voter registration lists<\/a> by removing ineligible voters. If states unlawfully block our requests, or if we discover that states have failed to accurately maintain their voter rolls, the RNC stands ready to act.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The request follows Trump&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/presidential\/3358947\/trump-executive-order-proof-citizenship-vote-federal-elections\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"executive order\">executive order<\/a> requiring proof of citizenship to register to vote in federal elections. Voters will have to provide a government-issued document to prove their citizenship.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/congressional\/3353803\/michael-whatley-commonsense-agenda-win-midterm-elections\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\"><strong>MICHAEL WHATLEY HOPEFUL &lsquo;COMMONSENSE AGENDA&rsquo; WILL WIN IN MIDTERM ELECTIONS<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The RNC&rsquo;s records requests are part of its <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">comprehensive election integrity program<\/a>. The RNC is working to increase transparency in our elections and stands ready to ensure transparency if stats [sic] do not comply,&rdquo; the press release says.<\/p>\n<p>North Dakota did not receive a records request because it does not require <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sos.nd.gov\/elections\/voter\/voting-north-dakota\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"voter registration\">voter registration<\/a>. If a voter is over 18, a U.S. citizen, and has lived in the state for 30 days before Election Day, they can fill out a ballot.
