It also stipulates that state and local officials must maintain records of the documentation used.<\/p>\n<p>The order emphasizes the need for better information sharing between federal and state agencies to verify voter eligibility, and it conditions federal election funds on states&#8217; compliance with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/kyrsten-sinema-wrecks-bidens-hopes-of-destroying-federal-election-integrity-laws-democrats-panic\/\" title=\"Kyrsten Sinema Wrecks Biden&#039;s Hopes of Destroying ... ... ...; Democrats Panic\">federal election integrity laws<\/a>. Additionally, it rescinds the previous Biden governance&#8217;s initiative, known as &#8220;Bidenbucks,&#8221; which aimed to increase voter registration among minority groups and had been criticized for skewing toward Democratic objectives.<\/p>\n<p>One meaningful change proposed is the enforcement of laws against counting late absentee or mail-in ballots that arrive after Election Day, a measure Trump believes would restore the conventional voting timeline. Furthermore, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-executive-order-mandates-divisive-unscientific-race-training-at-every-level-of-the-federal-government\/\" title=\"Biden ... Mandates Divisive, Unscientific Race \u2018Training\u2019 At Every Level Of The ... Government\">executive order directs<\/a> the Election Assistance Commission to establish standards that promote the use of paper ballots to enhance election transparency and prevent fraud. The order reflects ongoing debates about voting procedures and the integrity of elections in the U.S.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Over four years after the 2020 election was &ldquo;rigged,&rdquo;<em> <\/em>President Donald Trump issued an executive order to bolster election integrity.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Despite pioneering self-government, the United States now fails to enforce basic and necessary election protections employed by modern, developed nations, as well as those still developing,&rdquo; the order states. &ldquo;Free, fair, and honest elections unmarred by fraud, errors, or suspicion are fundamental to maintaining our constitutional Republic. The right of American citizens to have their votes properly counted and tabulated, without illegal dilution, is vital to determining the rightful winner of an election.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The Tuesday order tackles some of the most vulnerable aspects of the current election system. <\/p>\n<h2>Ensuring Only Citizens Can Vote<\/h2>\n<p>It&rsquo;s already technically <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/09\/04\/biden-admin-dismisses-noncitizen-voting-because-its-already-illegal-just-like-shoplifting-and-drunk-driving\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">already illegal<\/a> for noncitizens to register to vote (and vote) in federal elections &mdash; but the only thing standing between them and safe and secure elections is a small square box on a federal registration form that requires applicants to attest to their citizenship status under penalty of perjury. Noncitizens have <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/10\/23\/six-noncitizens-indicted-for-allegedly-voting-in-ohio-the-thing-democrats-still-insist-never-happens\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">managed<\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/10\/24\/georgia-audit-finds-nine-noncitizens-voted-in-past-elections\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">vote<\/a> in <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/10\/30\/a-noncitizen-cast-an-illegal-vote-in-michigan-and-officials-are-counting-it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">federal elections<\/a> as a result of an insecure system. <\/p>\n<p><strong>[READNEXT:[READNEXT:<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/10\/28\/congress-must-do-more-to-prevent-noncitizens-from-voting\/\">Congress Must Do More To Prevent Noncitizens From Voting<\/a>]<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Trump&rsquo;s executive order states that within 30 days of the proclamation, the &ldquo;Election Assistance Commission shall take appropriate action to require &hellip; documentary proof of United States citizenship &hellip;&rdquo; The order also stipulates that state and local officials must record which type of documentation is used as well as the date such documentation was issued. Some examples of documentary proof of citizenship include a United States passport, a REAL ID that indicates citizenship, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/msnbc-pundit-makes-the-single-worst-voter-id-is-racist-claim-weve-seen-yet\/\" title=\"MSNBC Pundit Makes the Single Worst &quot;...r ID is Racist&quot; Claim We\u2019ve Seen Yet\">military identification card<\/a>, and a valid federal or state government-issued identification.<\/p>\n<h2>Information Sharing Between Federal And State Agencies<\/h2>\n<p>The order also states that the Commissioner of Social Security shall make available the Social Security Number Verification Service, the Death Master File and &ldquo;any other Federal databases containing relevant information&rdquo; to help identify voter eligibility. <\/p>\n<p>The order also <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">conditions federal election-related funds<\/a> on states complying with federal laws on election integrity. <\/p>\n<h2>Bidenbucks Gets The Axe<\/h2>\n<p>Then-President Joe Biden issued Executive Order 14019, which mandated federal agencies register and mobilize voters. The order was created &ldquo;with the express intent of increasing election participation among minority groups that tend to vote disproportionately Democrat,&rdquo; as Ben Weingarten <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/05\/13\/heres-fresh-evidence-bidens-using-your-tax-dollars-to-turn-out-democrat-votes-in-2024\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">explained<\/a> in these pages. These so-called &ldquo;Bidenbucks&rdquo; were <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/03\/20\/exclusive-gop-chairman-demands-info-from-14-agencies-on-bidens-taxpayer-funded-gotv-efforts-to-boost-dems\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">used<\/a> to disproportionately advantage Democrats and Democratic goals.<\/p>\n<p>While Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/01\/23\/trump-erases-bidenbucks-and-taxpayer-funded-leftist-voter-registration-drives\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">rescinded<\/a> Biden&rsquo;s executive order upon taking office, his Tuesday executive orders directs &ldquo;the heads of all agencies, and the Election Assistance Commission&rdquo; to &ldquo;cease all agency actions implementing&rdquo; Bidenbucks and &ldquo;submit &hellip; a report describing compliance with this order&rdquo; within 90 days.<\/p>\n<h2>Late Counting <\/h2>\n<p>Election <em>Day<\/em> used to <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/09\/26\/this-case-could-make-elections-actually-end-on-election-day\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">mean something<\/a> &mdash; elections were supposed to be held on a uniform day nationwide. But during the 2020 election (that was rife with irregularities), several states <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncsl.org\/elections-and-campaigns\/the-evolution-of-absentee-mail-voting-laws-2020-through-2022\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">changed<\/a> their rules to, as previously <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/09\/26\/this-case-could-make-elections-actually-end-on-election-day\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a> in these pages, &ldquo;permit late ballots (that in some cases lacked a postmark) to be counted as valid so long as they arrived within an allotted time frame.&rdquo; Many of those rules remained in effect during the 2024 election. Election <em>Day<\/em> has now turned into Election <em>Months<\/em>, and ballots that arrive <em>after<\/em> Election Day can also be counted in certain states. It&rsquo;s patchwork election law. <\/p>\n<p>Trump&rsquo;s executive order directs the attorney general to &ldquo;take all necessary action to enforce [federal law] against States that violate these provisions by including absentee or mail-in ballots received after Election Day in the final tabulation of votes for the appointment of Presidential electors and the election of members of the United States Senate and House of Representatives.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<h2>Paper Ballots<\/h2>\n<p>The Election Assistance Commission is directed by Trump&rsquo;s executive order to issue &ldquo;appropriate guidance establishing standards for voting systems to protect election integrity.&rdquo; <\/p>\n<p>The guidance shall &ldquo;provide that voting systems should not use a ballot in which a vote is contained within a barcode or quick-response code in the vote counting process except where necessary to accommodate individuals with disabilities and should provide a voter-verifiable paper record to prevent fraud or mistake.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Several states do not use <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/stacey-abrams-voting-rights-pac-helped-group-that-pushed-voter-fraud-conspiracy-theories\/\" title=\"Stacey Abrams\u2019 Voting Rights PAC Helped Group That Pushed ...r ... Conspiracy Theories\">hand-marked paper ballots<\/a>. In Georgia, for example, voters mark their ballot on a touchscreen before a print-out summary and QR code of their vote is created. That print-out summary is then scanned in to be tabulated. The problem with the current system, as Morgan County Democratic Party Chairwoman Jeanne Dufort testified during <em><a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/03\/04\/in-georgia-and-elsewhere-officials-sow-distrust-in-elections-by-dismissing-voters-integrity-concerns\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Curling v. Raffensperger<\/a><\/em>, is that the machine &ldquo;interprets your vote and sends it to a printer.&rdquo; That means a voter&rsquo;s intention can only be inferred by whatever summary and QR code is printed, as I previously reported. Printouts aren&rsquo;t always accurate, however. As I previously <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/08\/05\/local-democrats-urge-georgia-to-return-to-hand-marked-ballots-echoing-conservatives-concerns\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/pennsylvania-election-voting-machines-votes-flipping-1aede0966e0c418b4efbbb36b513acef\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Northampton County<\/a>, Pennsylvania voters who voted in a November 2023 <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/02\/12\/pennsylvanias-message-to-voters-after-ballot-receipts-flipped-candidates-learn-to-read-barcodes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">election<\/a> had their &ldquo;yes&rdquo; votes flipped to &ldquo;no&rdquo; on the printout version of their vote summary.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p>      Brianna Lyman is an elections correspondent at The Federalist.
