This comment evoked laughter but also confusion, as it disregarded the fact that Melania Trump is a legal U.S. citizen, having emigrated legally from Slovenia and obtaining citizenship in 2006. Waters’ comments have faced criticism for being factually incorrect and for possibly fueling further division in political discourse, as they exemplify her pattern of incendiary rhetoric aimed at those she disagrees with politically. The article further explores the implications of her statements and highlights the broader context of immigration discussions in the U.S.

Well, at least give California Rep. But that’s not really who he’s looking at deporting right now — and it wouldn’t make a difference either way in Melania’s case.

Melania was born in the former Yugoslavia in 1970; after the fall of the Soviet Bloc and the split-up of Eastern Europe, she had Slovenian citizenship.

She came to this country legally on a visa as a model and would eventually marry a U.S. citizen you may know and/or have voted for.

She became an American citizen in 2006 and her parents, Viktor and Amalija Knavs, became naturalized U.S. citizens in 2018, according to ABC News.

In other words, she’s the model (pun unintended) of the kind of immigration Republicans keep talking about wanting: people who will come legally through the proper channels.

Illegal immigrants, definitionally, do not come legally. Changing the language doesn’t change that salient fact.

You can call them undocumented all you want; why don’t they have documents, Rep. Waters? Did they lose their green cards? Did they misplace their visa or citizenship paperwork? Did they suffer a home robbery where all their important files were plundered?

I know that’s usually not a dumb question in California, but in this case it is: Clearly, it’s because the “undocumented” people she’s referring to are not here legally. Therefore, they immigrated illegally, or are illegal immigrants. Golly, you can even shorten that a bit by a lopping off a few syllables and just calling them illegals, Rep. Waters. We’ll get the idea.

It’s not just the dim, empty threat that makes Waters’ latest rant so appalling; her career is littered with minatory tirades such as this aimed at pretty much anyone who endeavors to express an opinion slightly to the right of Dianne Feinstein’s. It’s that so little cognizance and due diligence even went into it.

Really, you didn’t have a staffer put this one through, say, ChatGPT before you risked the self-own? Or did the words just tumble out of your mouth without the benefit of being passed through a cognitive filter — such as one might still exist — Rep. Waters?

Sadly, I think we know the answer — and this is one instance where AI definitely beats out a human being at a task. Unfortunately, it isn’t hard when you consider it’s Maxine Waters. Doubly unfortunate, her task is governing America.

Cheer up, though: By Waters’ own logic, she’s just as deportable as Melania Trump is. As she so eloquently put it, “maybe we better just take a look” into that avenue of action before she does any more damage to herself or her country. Or, we can just remove her from office because she’s unfit to serve, even by her own low standards. Either way, it’s time this 86-year-old mental infirm shuffled her way off political stage left. Maxine Waters some credit for her consistency—albeit consistently outrageous. Recently, after claiming that America was on the brink of a “civil war,” the Democratic octogenarian suggested that if President Donald Trump wanted to deport undocumented non-citizens, he should start with his own wife, Melania Trump, and her parents, who are also U.S. citizens. During a rally in Los Angeles, Waters stirred up the audience by suggesting we should consider removing the First Lady in the same manner as dealing with criminals from Tren de Aragua. She exclaimed, “If he wants to scrutinize those born here and their undocumented parents, maybe he should first look at Melania!” Waters added in an unusual tone that left listeners feeling like they were watching a low-budget film: “We don’t know if her parents were documented.”

However amusing this may seem initially, it quickly falls apart when people check their phones and discover Melania Trump’s background and how she obtained U.S. citizenship. It’s likely she meant “those who weren’t born here,” since individuals born in America are currently recognized as citizens—though there is ongoing debate about birthright citizenship under the Fourteenth Amendment during Trump’s administration.

Melania was born in Yugoslavia in 1970 and held Slovenian citizenship after Eastern Europe’s division; she entered the U.S. legally on a modeling visa before marrying an American citizen you might recognize or have voted for. She became a U.S. citizen in 2006 while her parents naturalized in 2018 according to ABC News—essentially embodying what Republicans advocate for: legal immigration through proper channels.

Illegal immigrants do not enter legally; changing terminology doesn’t alter this fact. You can call them “undocumented” all you want; but why don’t they possess documents? Did they misplace their green cards or visas? The answer is clear—they’re not here legally.

Waters’ comments reflect not just ignorance but also highlight her history of making threats against anyone expressing views slightly right of Dianne Feinstein’s stance without any thoughtful consideration behind them. Or did it simply spill out without any cognitive filtering?

By Waters’ own reasoning, she’s just as deportable as Melania Trump is; perhaps it’s time to examine whether she should remain in office given her unfitness even by her own standards—or better yet, remove her entirely from political life altogether due to these repeated lapses

[34525,32423,32171,52090
post-2415065","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","tag-maxine-waters","tag-melania-trump","tag-political-commentary","tag-public-breakdown
["GET
