This fine was imposed for failing too disclose $4.2 million in campaign contributions and $3.2 million in expenditures linked to Abrams’ unsuccessful 2018 gubernatorial campaign. House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith has urged the IRS to prioritize investigating the organization, suggesting that it engaged in activities outside its tax-exempt purpose. Smith noted that the fine could be one of the largest ever issued in the United States. The commission found that the New Georgia Project participated in political campaigns, which led to its sanction. A representative from the organization expressed a desire to move past the issue.

Stacey Abrams’s New Georgia Project faces threat to tax-exempt status after $300,000 fine

House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith (R-MO) wrote a letter to the IRS urging the agency to revoke the tax-exempt status of a nonprofit group founded by Stacey Abrams after it was found to have <a href="https://www.conservativenewsdaily.net/breaking-news/breaking-attorney-phil-kline-and-it-expert-j-r-carlson-presser-wednesday-exposing-mark-zuckerbergs-dark-money-cash-for-chaos/" title="BREAKING: Attorney Phil Kline and IT Expert J.R.
