Thank you for your attention to this matter and, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!&rdquo; Trump wrote.<\/p>\n<p>The University of Maine System, comprised of eight public universities, was warned by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-admin-cracks-maine-governor-publicly-defies-transgender-order\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Department of Agriculture<\/a> that its $30 million federal funding could be in danger if it was not abiding by Trump&rsquo;s executive order that banned men from playing in women&rsquo;s sports, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/state-watch\/5189042-usda-university-of-maine-trump-mills-columbia-transgender-athletes-antisemitism\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Hill<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A subsequent news release from the Department of Agriculture said the colleges were abiding by Trump&rsquo;s order.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;UMaine&rsquo;s decision to side with sanity is a win for women and girls in Maine,&rdquo; the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usda.gov\/about-usda\/news\/press-releases\/2025\/03\/19\/university-maine-system-chooses-sanity-complies-president-trumps-policy-keeping-men-out-womens\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">release<\/a> said.<\/p>\n<p>The state&rsquo;s public schools are battling with the Department of Education&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/hours-maine-gov-defies-trump-face-feds-hit-investigation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Office of Civil Rights<\/a>, which on Wednesday demanded Maine get its act together.<\/p>\n<p>In a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ed.gov\/media\/document\/letter-of-finding-maine-doe-109602.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">letter to<\/a> Maine&rsquo;s Department of Education, Bradley Burke, regional director of the Office of Civil Rights, wrote that &ldquo;evidence supports a conclusion of noncompliance with Title IX by MDOE.
