Eric Schmitt<\/a> (R-MO) argued that President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/donald-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Donald Trump<\/a> will succeed in the legal battles at odds with his vision for the nation, arguing this is not the same as when former President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/joe-biden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Joe Biden<\/a> was &ldquo;overstepping&rdquo; his presidential power.<\/p>\n<p>Schmitt claimed that the law is on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/trump-administration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Trump administration&rsquo;s<\/a> side in its legal feud over deporting illegal immigrants, citing how &ldquo;the apex&rdquo; of a president&rsquo;s power lies in the &ldquo;congressionally-delegated authority on immigration policy&rdquo; within the commander-in-chief&rsquo;s core functions. Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN), for instance, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/3351475\/tim-burchett-cnn-clash-over-activist-judge-and-alien-enemies-act\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">got into a viral feud on cable news when he argued the president was in the right against the &ldquo;activist&rdquo; judge<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Schmitt also addressed the United States&rsquo;s bid to strengthen its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/military\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">military<\/a>, predicting that the 21st century will be defined by &ldquo;who wins this great power competition&rdquo; between the U.S. and China. As such, Schmitt applauded Trump and Defense Secretary <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/pete-hegseth\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Pete Hegseth<\/a> for taking on this challenge, in which he said China views the last 150 years as &ldquo;a great humiliation&rdquo; in its bid to win.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The president just announced that the U.S. Air Force will move forward to acquire the &ldquo;world&rsquo;s first sixth-generation fighter jet,&rdquo; named the F-47, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/defense\/3355212\/trump-boeing-sixth-generation-fighter-jet-contract-f47\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Trump promising it will be the &ldquo;most lethal aircraft ever built.&rdquo;<\/a> Schmitt detailed how the F-47 will &ldquo;see further ahead&rdquo; and be more stealthier than the U.S.&rsquo;s previous aircrafts.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/justice\/3355263\/trump-impoundment-control-act-supreme-court\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">INSIDE THE ESOTERIC CONSTITUTIONAL DISPUTE THAT COULD COMPLETELY TRANSFORM THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;So if we make those investments and we&rsquo;re serious about it, we can win this great competition, but we can&rsquo;t be lackadaisical about it,&rdquo; Schmitt argued. &ldquo;We have to continue to modernize.
