Well, I must have tripped over something just sticking up there.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>To make matters worse, Lewis hit her head on a cement step and started to bleed.<\/p>\n<p>Bridger described later in his own words that she &ldquo;had her walker and then she fell on our porch,&rdquo; meaning that &ldquo;she bonked her head, and then it popped open.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Lewis told her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/elderly-woman-raising-6-great-grandchildren-blessed-surprise-squad\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">great-grandson<\/a> that she was all right, but said he would have to retrieve her cell phone from the car.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We tried hollering for the neighbor because we saw her lights on,&rdquo; Lewis recalled.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I said, &lsquo;You know what? You&rsquo;re going to have to go out to the car and get my phone,&rsquo;&rdquo; Lewis said.<\/p>\n<p>The incident happened after dark, and Bridger was afraid.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;He said, &lsquo;It&rsquo;s too dark, GG,&rsquo;&rdquo; Lewis said. &ldquo;I said, &lsquo;I know, but you&rsquo;re going to have to be brave. Jesus will help you.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Bridger was seen on surveillance footage mustering up the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-stranded-astronaut-proudly-proclaims-truth-jesus-asked-learned-last-9-months\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">courage<\/a> to face his fears.<\/p>\n<div class=\"firefly-embed\"> <iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"3-year-old boy saves great-grandma after serious fall\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/YwVVLbBD3Wo?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>He successfully retrieved the phone, allowing his great-grandmother to call for aid.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;He&rsquo;s just a blessing,&rdquo; Lewis added. &ldquo;I call him a hero.
