It turns out <a href=\"https:\/\/vot-er.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Vot-ER,<\/a> a leftist voter registration outfit in the healthcare space, isn&rsquo;t joking when it boasts that it is <a href=\"https:\/\/vot-er.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&ldquo;revolutionizing voter engagement.<\/a>&rdquo;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>And wouldn&rsquo;t you know it. The corrupt and criminally wasteful <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/02\/26\/exclusive-usaid-blew-hundreds-of-thousands-in-taxpayer-slush-funds-on-ukrainian-pickle-maker-pet-accessories\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">USAID<\/a> has a part to play in this strange story of leftist bedfellows.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>&lsquo;Alarming Extremist Views&rsquo;<\/h2>\n<p>As The Federalist has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realclearpolitics.com\/2024\/04\/16\/bidenbucks_make_zuckbucks_look_like_chump_change_621873.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a>, Biden&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.federalregister.gov\/documents\/2021\/03\/10\/2021-05087\/promoting-access-to-voting\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Executive Order 14019<\/a> &mdash; or &ldquo;Bidenbucks&rdquo; as government watchdogs dubbed it &mdash; was the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heritage.org\/election-integrity\/report\/biden-executive-order-14019-unlawful-interference-state-election\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">apparent brainchild<\/a> of Green New Deal peddler <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/07\/26\/kamala-harris-now-has-the-keys-to-the-bidenbucks-election-machine\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Demos<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/04\/15\/bidenbucks-make-zuckbucks-look-like-chump-change\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">according to<\/a> documents obtained by the Heritage Foundation&rsquo;s Oversight Project. The initiative, sold as &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eeoc.gov\/promoting-access-voting\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Promoting Access to Voting,&rdquo;<\/a> recruited (or opened the White House doors to) an army of leftist nonprofits <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heritage.org\/press\/oversight-project-uncovers-white-house-attempts-rig-election\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">affiliated with the Democrat Party.<\/a> &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The executive order was so weaponizing and constitutionally suspect, President Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/02\/26\/trump-killed-bidenbucks-congress-needs-to-bury-it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">rescinded<\/a> it on his first day in office.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Vot-ER was on the guest list of invited leftists for a July 2021 <a href=\"https:\/\/oversight.heritage.org\/OP_Memo_on_EO_14019_Partisan_Implementation_5.1.2024.pdf?_gl=1*1eqgqxz*_gcl_au*ODgyNjU0NDIxLjE3NDExOTc4ODM.*_ga*MTQ4NDc5NDM5OS4xNzQxMTk3ODg0*_ga_W14BT6YQ87*MTc0MTgwODg4MC43LjEuMTc0MTgxMzU5MS4zOC4wLjA.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">listening session<\/a> led by the Department of Justice, other government agencies, and White House representatives on how to use non-governmental organizations to roll out Bidenbucks. Representatives from billionaire George Soros&rsquo; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/non-profit\/open-society-policy-center\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Open Society Policy Center<\/a>, the Southern Poverty Law Center, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/non-profit\/black-voters-matter-fund\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Black Voters Matter,<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/non-profit\/democracy-fund\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Democracy Fund<\/a>, also joined the dozens of leftist NGOs in attendance, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/non-profit\/democracy-fund\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">documents<\/a> obtained in the Oversight Project&rsquo;s records request.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The NGO talking points focused upon efforts to target historically Democratic voter blocks and expressed alarming extremist views. There is no corresponding evidence of efforts increase voter access and education in likely Republican constituencies,&rdquo; a Heritage Foundation <a href=\"https:\/\/oversight.heritage.org\/OP_Memo_on_EO_14019_Partisan_Implementation_5.1.2024.pdf?_gl=1*1eqgqxz*_gcl_au*ODgyNjU0NDIxLjE3NDExOTc4ODM.*_ga*MTQ4NDc5NDM5OS4xNzQxMTk3ODg0*_ga_W14BT6YQ87*MTc0MTgwODg4MC43LjEuMTc0MTgxMzU5MS4zOC4wLjA.\">memo<\/a> states.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>&lsquo;Contamination of a Physician&rsquo;s Role&rsquo;<\/h2>\n<p>Vot-ER has deep connections to the power players in the leftist movement. The organization was founded by <a href=\"https:\/\/ahealthierdemocracy.org\/alister-martin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Alister Martin<\/a>, an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.massgeneral.org\/doctors\/20757\/alister-martin\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ER physician<\/a>, an <span>assistant professor at&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/shorensteincenter.org\/programs\/behavioral-insights-group\/big-faculty-research\/alister-martin\/\" target=\"_blank\">Harvard Medical School and Harvard Kennedy School<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/burnes.northeastern.edu\/people\/alister-martin\/\" target=\"_blank\">and a senior fellow<\/a><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/burnes.northeastern.edu\/people\/alister-martin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> at the Burnes Center for Social Change<\/a>. Martin also served as an advisor to Vice President Kamala Harris and the <a href=\"https:\/\/giving.massgeneral.org\/stories\/from-the-west-end-to-the-west-wing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">White House Office of Public Engagement<\/a> as a White House Fellow. And he was a health policy aide to former Vermont Democrat Gov. Peter Shumlin and Rep. Raul Ruiz, a California Democrat, according to his bio.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Vot-ER pushes its leftist voter registration and mobilization agenda throughout the U.S. healthcare system, &ldquo;seek[ing] to identify low-income and minority voters,&rdquo; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/non-profit\/vot-er-a-healthier-democracy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">according<\/a> to InfluenceWatch. As the Washington Free Beacon <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/democrats\/rnc-urges-election-officials-to-scrutinize-dem-aligned-group-registering-patients-to-vote-in-hospitals\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a>, &ldquo;doctors affiliated with the group&rdquo; also &ldquo;routinely use left-coded language &hellip; when interacting with patients and the public.&rdquo; Founded in 2019, the organization claims it has registered to vote or prepared to vote more than 89,000 people at more than <a href=\"https:\/\/vot-er.org\/fuel-our-badge-program\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">800 hospitals and clinics<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Vot-ER&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/vot-er.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">mission<\/a> is &ldquo;transforming routine healthcare visits into opportunities for civic empowerment, partnering with trusted health professionals, and reaching historically underrepresented communities.&rdquo; Politics infused healthcare. What could go wrong?&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Vot-ER develops nonpartisan civic engagement tools and programs for every corner of the healthcare system&mdash;from private practitioners to medical schools to hospitals,&rdquo; the group&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/vot-er.org\/about\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">website states<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In September of last year, just weeks before Election Day, the Republican National Committee &ldquo;sent letters to election officials in six swing states urging them to monitor Vot-ER &hellip; for possible violations of election law,&rdquo; as the Free Beacon <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/democrats\/rnc-urges-election-officials-to-scrutinize-dem-aligned-group-registering-patients-to-vote-in-hospitals\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a>. The letters, obtained by the outlet, alleged Vot-ER was politically &ldquo;weaponizing the healthcare system&rdquo; and &ldquo;threatening &hellip; election integrity.&rdquo; <\/p>\n<p>The group&rsquo;s get-out-the-vote materials have ostensibly &ldquo;been used to register patients in emergency rooms, substance abuse clinics, and even psychiatric hospitals,&rdquo; according to the Free Beacon.<\/p>\n<p>Vot-ER, the news outlet <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/elections\/meet-the-little-known-activist-group-that-has-tens-of-thousands-of-doctors-registering-patients-to-vote\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a>, provides physicians <a href=\"https:\/\/vot-er.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Vot-ER_Conversation-Starters.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">scripts<\/a> to urge noncitizens to register &ldquo;friends and family members who are citizens&rdquo; to vote.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I can&rsquo;t even begin to tell you how inappropriate this is,&rdquo; said Sally Satel, a lecturer in psychiatry at Yale Medical School, <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/elections\/meet-the-little-known-activist-group-that-has-tens-of-thousands-of-doctors-registering-patients-to-vote\/\">told<\/a> the Free Beacon. &ldquo;It&rsquo;s such a contamination of a physician&rsquo;s role.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>In August 2024, GOP Rep. Chip Roy sent a letter to Vot-ER and another organization with reported connections to the get-out-the-vote group &ldquo;to inquire about the steps [the] organizations [were] taking to ensure non-citizens do not register to vote.&rdquo; The letter, <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.is\/pz80d#selection-1671.14-1671.134\">obtained<\/a> by the Washington Examiner, also alleged that &ldquo;Vot-ER has actively worked against efforts to ensure non-citizens do not illegally register to vote in federal elections&rdquo; by <a href=\"https:\/\/civilrightsdocs.info\/pdf\/policy\/letters\/2023\/SAVEActLetter-July92024.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">opposing<\/a> legislation that would have required proof of citizenship for voter registration. <\/p>\n<p>Vot-ER representatives, including Martin, did not return The Federalist&rsquo;s multiple requests for comment.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Professor Revolutionary&nbsp;<\/h2>\n<p>Perhaps it&rsquo;s not surprising that the leftist Vot-ER offers an intensive training session for healthcare providers. The <a href=\"https:\/\/vot-er.org\/fellowship\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Civic Health Fellowship (CHF) <\/a>is an eight-month program guided by &ldquo;top-tier instructors in community organizing&rdquo; out of which participants &ldquo;emerge with a profound understanding of civic involvement, health equity concerns, and effective community mobilization techniques.&rdquo; The sessions, according to Vot-ER&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/vot-er.org\/fellowship\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">website<\/a>, run from April to November. Fellowship participants receive <a href=\"https:\/\/vot-er.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/Fellowship-One-Pager.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">lessons<\/a> on &ldquo;Public Narrative,&rdquo; &ldquo;Snowflake &amp; Campaign Structure,&rdquo; &ldquo;Tactics,&rdquo; and &ldquo;Campaign Strategic Goal Strategy\/Planning.&rdquo; What all of that has to do with registering people to vote isn&rsquo;t clear.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>One CHF&rsquo;s &ldquo;top-tier&rdquo; instructors is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hks.harvard.edu\/about\/srdja-popovic\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Srdja Popovic<\/a>, a Serbian revolutionary famous for leading the protest movements in the former Yugoslavia that toppled President Slobodan Milosevic in 2000 and ended with the dismantling of the country. Popovic was featured in the 2002 documentary, &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nonviolent-conflict.org\/bringing-dictator-english\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Bringing Down a Dictator<\/a>,&rdquo; which tells the story of a student group called&nbsp;Otpor! or &ldquo;Resistance!&rdquo; in Serbian, that employed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.primevideo.com\/detail\/Bringing-Down-A-Dictator\/0QSR8U6S2DTZW5SAK1HG7G3YZ7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&ldquo;civil disobedience, rock &rsquo;n roll and ridicule&rdquo;<\/a> to nonviolently knock out Milosevic. It was, of course, narrated by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0000640\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Martin Sheen.<\/a>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The revolution was no easy feat. NATO&rsquo;s U.S.-backed targeted bombing campaign in 1999 couldn&rsquo;t upend the Yugoslavian government, which was engaged in various war crimes. Popovic was nominated for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hks.harvard.edu\/about\/srdja-popovic\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Nobel Peace Prize<\/a>. He did a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ted.com\/talks\/srdja_popovic_how_to_topple_a_dictator?language=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">TED Talk.<\/a> He literally wrote the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Blueprint-Revolution-Nonviolent-Techniques-Communities\/dp\/0812995309\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> book<\/a> on &ldquo;nonviolent&rdquo; revolution.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;&hellip; Otpor&rsquo;s success suggests that oppressive leaders can best be toppled not by outside military force but by grassroots movements from within,&rdquo; a New York Times review of the documentary <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2002\/03\/30\/arts\/television-review-in-belgrade-too-students-flex-their-political-muscle.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">raved<\/a> at the time,<\/p>\n<h2>&lsquo;Feeling Betrayed&rsquo;<\/h2>\n<p>But what wasn&rsquo;t initially public was that Otpor was heavily <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.is\/pz80d#selection-1671.14-1671.134\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">funded<\/a> by the U.S. government, in another ostensibly pro-democracy regime change insider job.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Like the entire opposition to Milosevic, Otpor took money from the U.S. government, and lied about it. When the real story came out after Milosevic fell, many Otpor members quit, feeling betrayed,&rdquo; Journalist Tina Rosenberg wrote in a 2011 piece titled, &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/archive-yaleglobal.yale.edu\/content\/revolution-u\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">What Egypt learned from the protestors who overthrew Milosevic.&rdquo;<\/a> The author examined Popovic&rsquo;s revolutionary training institution, the <a href=\"https:\/\/canvasopedia.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Center for Applied NonViolent Actions and Strategies (CANVAS)<\/a>. That same year, Voice of America in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=JJi06axGmYU\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">feature piece,<\/a> described CANVAS as a &ldquo;school of revolution&rdquo; that teaches activists &ldquo;how to overthrow a dictator.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Rosenberg <a href=\"https:\/\/archive-yaleglobal.yale.edu\/content\/revolution-u\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a> that CANVAS&rsquo; efforts had been mostly ineffective. By 2019, Popovic and his organization had <a href=\"https:\/\/canvasopedia.org\/2019\/08\/20\/why-a-successful-cultural-revolution-requires-a-movement\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reportedly<\/a> trained &ldquo;activists in 50 countries including India, Iran, Zimbabwe, Burma, Ukraine, Georgia, Palestine, Belarus, Tunisia, and Egypt.&rdquo; But, oddly enough, regimes, particularly extremely repressive ones, don&rsquo;t seem to care much for &ldquo;resistance&rdquo; revolutionaries hanging around and causing trouble.<\/p>\n<h2>&lsquo;Even More Alarming&rsquo;<\/h2>\n<p>Interestingly, CANVAS received a chunk of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/ewmi-activism.org\/about-us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">$17 million&nbsp;<\/a>from the controversial United States Agency for International Development (USAID) for the federal agency&rsquo;s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/ewmi-activism.org\/about-us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Civil Society Engagement program<\/a>&nbsp;in Georgia. Begun in 2021, the five-year initiative was supposed to end next year, although its status is not clear amid the Trump administration&rsquo;s dismantling of the corrupt agency. The Civil Society Engagement program was<a href=\"https:\/\/ewmi.org\/civil-society-engagement-program-csep-georgia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&nbsp;implemented<\/a>&nbsp;by East-West Management Institute, Inc., a USAID-sponsored leftist group, CANVAS, and others.<\/p>\n<p>Things have not gone well in the Republic of Georgia for the engagement initiative.
