Customers will now \u200dincur charges for checked luggage unless they are Rapid Rewards A-List Preferred Members or traveling \u200don \u200da Business\u200b Select fare, with some members still eligible for one or two free checked bags. \u2062The\u2063 airline frames this decision as \u200dpart of a broader \u2063strategy to \u200cenhance customer loyalty and attract new\u2064 passenger segments. While the details of the new bag \u200dfees have not been disclosed,\u2062 Southwest also plans to introduce a new Basic fare system\u200c for its lowest-priced tickets.
