Thomas Massie,⁣ have voiced their opposition, arguing that it perpetuates past budgetary issues without significant commitments to change. Massie shared his concerns on social media, stating ‌that if passed, the resolution would essentially continue the funding‍ patterns established ‍under Biden.

President Trump has urged support for the proposal, framing it as a necessary step to maintain government operations and secure⁤ finances⁢ until later discussions. While ‍republicans hold a slim majority in Congress, their ability to⁣ pass the bill without support from some Democrats remains uncertain, as the current stopgap measure is set⁣ to expire soon.⁤ The outcome of this proposal could have significant implications ‍for government funding and operations ‌moving forward.

A proposal to fund the federal government for the final half of this federal fiscal year has run into opposition.

The proposal was unveiled Saturday by the House Republican majority as a continuing resolution that largely funds the budget proposed by former President Joe Biden and approved in two stopgap budget bills last year, according to CNN.

The proposal, which shifts around some budget lines to increase defense spending by $6 billion and cut domestic spending by $13 billion, was denounced by Democrats.

But the bill also drew the ire of Republican Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky, who said the bill is more of the same old stuff.
