Konanki, a University of pittsburgh student from Chantilly, was reported \u200bmissing\u200c after she went to \u2062the beach with five friends on Thursday. While all her friends have been accounted for, there are concerns regarding her disappearance,\u200d especially after surveillance footage indicated \u2062that Konanki stayed behind with a man, who later left the beach alone. <\/p>\n<p>Miyares stated that local authorities and agencies,including the \u200bDominican Navy and Civil\u200b Defense Force,are actively involved in\u2064 the search,and \u2063he emphasized the importance of public assistance in \u200cthe inquiry.He urged anyone with\u2063 information to share it with the authorities, \u200bhighlighting that even <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">seemingly inconsequential details<\/a> could be crucial. Around 5:55 a.m., surveillance cameras showed five women and one man leaving the beach, while Konanki is believed to have stayed with a man; four hours later, cameras caught the man leaving without Konanki, <a href=\"https:\/\/amp.cnn.com\/cnn\/2025\/03\/09\/us\/sudiksha-konanki-missing-punta-cana\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">according to<\/a> local police.<\/p>\n<p>Miyares added that authorities in the Dominican Republic are being &ldquo;very cooperative&rdquo; in this search, stating they have mobilized the Dominican Navy and the Dominican Civil Defense Force in the search for Konanki.
