harassment merely because he is straight, according to a Thursday <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/news\/world\/americas\/starbucks-lgbtq-workplace-harassment-discrimination-b2710513.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">report<\/a> from The Independent.<\/p>\n<p> <script type=\"text\/javascript\"> \t\t\tif ( getCookie( \"ff_subbed\" ) ) { \t\t\t\tdocument.getElementById(\"stnvideo\").remove() \t\t\t} \t\t<\/script> <\/p>\n<p>The British news outlet, which obtained a copy of the lawsuit, said that Thevanesan, 47, is accusing Starbucks of discrimination, retaliation, and intentionally causing emotional distress.<\/p>\n<p>He claimed that his supervisors treated him &ldquo;in a materially different manner&rdquo; than fellow employees who were &ldquo;not heterosexual and\/or gender typical men.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The lawsuit described Thevanesan as a &ldquo;model employee who performed the essential functions of his employment in an exemplary fashion.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>But he allegedly endured a &ldquo;hostile&rdquo; work environment since his coworkers apparently targeted him because of his &ldquo;gender typicality and sexual orientation.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>To make matters worse, Thevanesan said that his bosses fired him when he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/survey-shows-support-sex-marriage-declining\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">complained<\/a> about their behavior.<\/p>\n<p>Thevanesan now works at a bank.<\/p>\n<p>Neil Flynn, the attorney who represents Thevanesan, said in an interview with the outlet that &ldquo;management was indifferent to his complaints.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The lawyer even asserted that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/starbucks-leaves-customers-enraged-staffing-changes-lead-delayed-orders-waiting-40-minutes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Starbucks<\/a> employees in the region were actively trying to drive out fellow employees with normal sexual preferences.<\/p>\n<p>Flynn added that the ordeal &ldquo;took a toll&rdquo; on Thevanesan &ldquo;personally and professionally.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;He was given several different conflicting reasons for why he was discharged,&rdquo; Flynn continued. &ldquo;We&rsquo;re in the course of discovery, so we&rsquo;re still trying to verify what their claims are.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The complaint noted that Thevanesan was dismissed in early 2022 for unspecified offenses, while the document said he lost the position &ldquo;because he is a heterosexual, gender typical man.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Thevanesan is therefore demanding compensatory damages plus attorneys&rsquo; fees.<\/p>\n<p>The broader homosexual and transgender movement usually characterizes itself to the public as loving, inclusive, and tolerant.<\/p>\n<p>But if this disgruntled <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/starbucks-learns-lesson-reverses-policy-implemented-appease-woke-mob\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Starbucks<\/a> worker is to be believed, that community is actually highly spiteful, exclusionary, and intolerant.<\/p>\n<p>Starbucks, a firm claiming on its <a href=\"https:\/\/about.starbucks.com\/belonging-at-starbucks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">website<\/a> that it works toward being an &ldquo;inclusive, equitable, accessible and diverse company,&rdquo;
