It features ‌testimonies from survivors of⁢ china’s ⁣cultural Revolution, including Xi ‍Van Fleet and Lily Tang Williams, who vehemently‌ disagree with this characterization. ⁢they argue that the New York ⁤Times is spreading communist propaganda, ⁢with Van⁢ Fleet describing the paper’s stance as reflective of‍ the⁤ Chinese Communist Party’s propaganda outlets. The article⁢ highlights‌ the atrocities of ‍Mao Zedong’s regime, which included the⁤ deaths of millions and the oppression of dissenting voices, contrasting it with Trump’s ⁢policies and governance.

The survivors accuse the Times of lacking courage ⁤and objectivity in their reporting, emphasizing the real‌ threats ⁣posed by cultural revolutions that aim to dismantle societal values. They assert that the⁢ current situation in ‌America, characterized by political activism and cultural⁤ shifts, mirrors the tactics used during the ⁢Chinese Cultural ⁤Revolution, with young people being mobilized as activists. They challenge the notion that ‍Trump is a dictator, pointing out that he⁤ has faced⁢ significant legal challenges and opposition, unlike Mao, who operated in a brutal‌ totalitarian context.

The survivors call ⁢for a deeper understanding of history and offer themselves as voices to educate ‍others ⁢about the ‍dangers ⁣of such ideologies, advocating for a ⁣debate with the authors of the⁣ New York Times article to discuss these ‌perspectives.

The New York Times published an article claiming President Donald Trump’s administration is pushing a Chinese-style “Cultural Revolution in America.” But survivors of the Chinese Cultural Revolution told The Federalist they disagree — and suggested the Times is pushing communist propaganda.

“They are evil — evil,” said Xi Van Fleet, a survivor of Mao Zedong’s Cultural Revolution. “The New York Times is personifying the People’s Daily, the CCP mouthpiece.”

Mao’s communist government killed up to 2 million people and sent thousands of its opponents to prison during the Chinese Cultural Revolution from 1966 to 1976.
