Partners reveals \u2064that a majority of workers find \u2064an\u200d email request from Elon Musk and his Department of Government Efficiency asking <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/white-house-releases-list-of-president-trumps-accomplishments-and-it-is-historic\/\" title=\"White House Releases List of President ...\u2019s Accomplishments \u2013  And It Is Historic!\">federal employees<\/a> to \u2062report\u200c on their\u2062 weekly accomplishments to be reasonable.\u200c Specifically, 55% of respondents deemed the email &#8220;reasonable,&#8221; while 39% thought \u2064it was &#8220;unreasonable.&#8221; The poll indicated\u2063 that opinions varied considerably \u2063across demographics; younger and employed individuals, particularly \u2063those earning over $75,000, were more\u2064 likely to view the request\u200d favorably. In contrast, partisan divides were noted, with 70%\u2064 of Republicans \u2064supporting the email compared to onyl\u200b 24% of Democrats. Latino \u2063respondents, however,\u2063 largely found it unreasonable, with only 35% \u200cin\u2063 favor. Despite creating some chaos within federal agencies,Musk justified the request as a \u2062&#8221;pulse check&#8221; to assess employee engagement. Administration in Court Battle with ...\">federal employees received<\/a> a second email last weekend with a Monday deadline asking them to provide their superiors with a list of five tasks they completed during the past week, found that a plurality of <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">male respondents thought<\/a> the original email was reasonable.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, a plurality of people who are younger than 50 years of age, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/higher-education\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">college graduates<\/a>, respondents who identify as white and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/african-americans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">black<\/a>, those who are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/jobs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">employed<\/a>, regardless of whether they are white- or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/working-class\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">blue-collar<\/a> workers, and those who have an annual income of more than $75,000 also found the first email to be reasonable.<\/p>\n<p>Although there was a partisan divide between <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/democratic-party\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Democratic<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/republican-party\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Republican<\/a> respondents, only 41% of independents perceived the email as reasonable, compared to 45% who did not. Seventy percent of Republicans agreed with the email, with only 24% of Democrats expressing the same opinion.<\/p>\n<p>The other striking divide was among <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/latinos\/\">Latino<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/hispanics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Hispanic<\/a> respondents. Only 35% supported the email, in contrast to 55% who did not.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Source: J.L. Partners.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>For J.L. Partners co-founder James Johnson, whose polling firm had the most accurate forecast model of the 2024 election, the poll&rsquo;s most interesting finding was regarding workers. <\/p>\n<p>Respondents were similarly asked whether they would find the email reasonable had they received one from their own employer. Overall, 41% told pollsters it would be reasonable, while 33% said it was not. Among workers, 50% said it was reasonable, with 37% saying it was not.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Musk&rsquo;s email may have caused chaos in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/better-than-expected-u-s-economy-added-638000-jobs-in-october-unemployment-dropped-to-6-9\/\" title=\"Better Than Expected: U.S. Economy Added 638,000 Jobs in October, Unemployment Dropped to 6.9%\">federal government<\/a>, and even the Cabinet, but the average American worker thinks it is a reasonable ask,&rdquo; Johnson told the <em>Washington Examiner<\/em>. &ldquo;Those workers in the real world think it is reasonable, that they would also find their own boss sending the email a fair ask, and that they could answer it themselves.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/texas-judge-grants-gop-lawmaker-standing-to-sue-biden-administration-over-unrwa-funding-washington-examiner\/\" title=\"Texas judge grants GOP lawmaker standing to sue Biden administration over UNRWA funding - Washington Examiner\">federal government&#038;rsquo<\/a>;s approximately 2.4 million employees, excluding military personnel, more than 1 million responded to DOGE&rsquo;s first email last week, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/white-house\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">White House<\/a>. The second email, sent by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/opm\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Office of Personnel Management<\/a>, advised its workforce it would have to reply to similar emails in perpetuity. <\/p>\n<p>Although the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/pentagon\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Pentagon<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/justice-department\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Justice Department<\/a> directed their employees to disregard the first email, Defense Secretary <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/pete-hegseth\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Pete Hegseth<\/a> and Attorney General <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/pam-bondi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Pam Bondi<\/a> required their workforces to respond to the second. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/state-department\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">State Department<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/fbi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">FBI<\/a> made alternate arrangements for their staff.<\/p>\n<p>Irrespective of the uncertainty they created, Trump and Musk have defended the emails, arguing, at least in the words of the billionaire <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/tesla\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Tesla<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/spacex\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">SpaceX<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/x-twitter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">X<\/a> entrepreneur, that they are not &ldquo;a performance&nbsp;review,&rdquo; but &ldquo;a pulse check&nbsp;review.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;What we are trying to get to the bottom of is, we think there are a number of people on the payroll who are dead, which is probably why they can&rsquo;t respond &mdash; and some people who are not real people,&rdquo; Musk said during last week&rsquo;s Cabinet meeting at the White House. &ldquo;If you have a pulse and two neurons, you can reply to an email.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Trump agreed: &ldquo;Those million people that haven&rsquo;t responded though, Elon, they are on the bubble&hellip; Those people are on the bubble as they say, maybe they&rsquo;re gonna be gone.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>J.L.
