Brandon Gill (R-TX) aiming \u2062to replace Benjamin Franklin on\u200c the\u200c $100 bill with Trump. This proposed legislation is dubbed the &#8220;Golden Age Act of 2025.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Additionally,there are\u2062 proposals to rename Washington Dulles International Airport to Donald\u200d J. Trump\u2064 International Airport\u2063 and to assertively pursue the\u2063 acquisition of Greenland, as Trump\u2064 had previously suggested. Other supportive measures \u2062include the nomination\u2062 of Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, the carving of his \u200bimage on \u200dMount\u200c Rushmore, \u200cand the proposal to make his birthday a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/happy-thanksgiving\/\" title=\"Happy Thanksgiving!!\">national holiday<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The pushback against these\u200d initiatives is significant, particularly from \u200bDemocrats, who have long \u200cadvocated\u2064 for replacing Andrew Jackson&#8217;s image on the \u200d$20 bill \u2064with that of Harriet\u200d Tubman. Brandon Gill (R-TX), a vocal Trump supporter and president of the GOP freshman class, introduced a bill on Monday to replace Benjamin Franklin with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/house\/3335631\/trump-hundred-dollar-bill-brandon-gill\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Trump on the $100 bill\">Trump on the $100 bill<\/a>. The bill, &ldquo;Golden Age Act of 2025,&rdquo; follows a common theme from the 2024 campaign trail and inauguration in which Republicans have promised there&rsquo;s a new &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">golden age&#038;rdquo<\/a>; in America.<\/p>\n<p>The legislation comes as Democrats have pushed since 2016 to place Harriet Tubman on the $20 bill, replacing former President Andrew Jackson. The first Trump administration <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/503469\/schumer-demands-investigation-into-tubman-20-delay\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">postponed plans<\/a> to place Tubman on the bill until 2028, causing backlash from Democrats like Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY). Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shaheen.senate.gov\/news\/press\/shaheen-renews-push-to-put-harriet-tubman-on-20-bill\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">introduced<\/a> the &ldquo;Harriet Tubman Tribute Act of 2023&rdquo; but it never passed through committee.<\/p>\n<p>Gill&rsquo;s bill is one of several introduced by Trump Republicans who hope to see his second administration live on past his four-year term &mdash; and one bill, from Rep. Andy Ogles (R-TN), wants to expand that to eight years by amending the Constitution to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/house\/3299285\/ogles-introduces-resolution-allow-trump-seek-third-term\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">allow Trump to serve three terms<\/a> as commander in chief.<\/p>\n<p>Other freshmen, like Gill, have jumped into the mix to honor Trump after the GOP&rsquo;s victories in the 2024 election. Rep. Addison McDowell (R-NC) introduced a bill to <a href=\"https:\/\/mcdowell.house.gov\/media\/press-releases\/congressman-addison-mcdowell-introduces-legislation-rename-washington-dulles\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">rename<\/a> Washington Dulles International Airport to Donald J. Trump International Airport.<\/p>\n<p>Two bills center on the purchase of Greenland. Trump has repeatedly insisted that the United States should acquire Greenland for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/hillbilly-elegy-author-jd-vance-confirms-hes-seriously-considering-senate-run-in-ohio\/\" title=\"\u2018Hillbilly Elegy\u2019 Author JD Vance Confirms He\u2019s Seriously Considering Senate Run In Ohio\">national security reasons<\/a>, noting that the island is rich with numerous critical national resources, hosts a U.S. military base, and is strategically located.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Despite Democrats blasting Trump&rsquo;s proposal as outlandish and archaic, there is precedent for the U.S. attempting to purchase the territory from Denmark. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/foreign-policy\/3300841\/what-happened-previous-three-times-the-us-attempted-to-acquire-greenland\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Previous attempts<\/a> were made in 1867, 1910, and from 1946-1947.<\/p>\n<p>Ogles introduced the &ldquo;Make Greenland Great Again Act,&rdquo; which allows Trump to enter into negotiations with Denmark to purchase the territory. A similar bill from Rep. Buddy Carter (R-GA) would rename Greenland &ldquo;Red, White, and Blueland.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Acquiring Greenland is not the only way to gain Trump&rsquo;s favor. Republicans have also rallied behind Trump&rsquo;s remarks that he wants to make Canada the 51st state, a pitch that has been thoroughly rejected by the U.S.&rsquo;s northern neighbor but latched on to by the GOP.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) sent out a poll to her &ldquo;fellow conservatives&rdquo; asking whether Canada should be made the 51st state.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Let&rsquo;s stand together for America&rsquo;s future,&rdquo; Boebert wrote in the campaign email.<\/p>\n<p>No legislation has been sponsored to allow Trump to acquire Canada &mdash; but the <em>Washington Examiner<\/em> reached out to Boebert to see whether she would be interested in doing so based on the results of the poll.<\/p>\n<p>Rep. Dusty Johnson (R-SD) also reintroduced a bill to <a href=\"https:\/\/dustyjohnson.house.gov\/sites\/evo-subsites\/dustyjohnson.house.gov\/files\/evo-media-document\/Panama%20Canal%20Repurchase%20Act.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">purchase the Panama Canal<\/a>, another goal of Trump&rsquo;s. An initial draft of the legislation noted that the purchase would amount to $1, an homage to Trump&rsquo;s claim that former President Jimmy Carter sold the canal to Panama for that amount, though <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/fact-check-did-jimmy-carter-sell-panama-canal-one-dollar-2007555\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"fact-checkers\">fact-checkers<\/a> have noted otherwise.<\/p>\n<p>Some Republicans are looking to solidify Trump&rsquo;s legacy well beyond Washington. Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) <a href=\"https:\/\/luna.house.gov\/posts\/breaking-rep-luna-introduces-legislation-to-carve-president-trump-on-mount-rushmore\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"introduced a bill\">introduced a bill<\/a> to carve Trump&rsquo;s image on the iconic Mount Rushmore National Memorial in South Dakota.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) said he plans to nominate Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, with his spokesperson <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/house\/5173841-republican-says-hes-nominating-trump-for-nobel-peace-prize\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">pointing to Trump&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/reports-biden-admin-colluded-with-iran-to-derail-president-trump\/\" title=\"Reports: Biden admin. colluded with Iran to derail ... ...\">peace efforts<\/a><\/a> in the Middle East. The president has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize multiple times in the past, most recently by Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-NY) in 2024, but has never won.<\/p>\n<p>Issa&rsquo;s decision to nominate Trump comes after the president&rsquo;s heated meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr centered on a possible ceasefire in the war between Ukraine and Russia. Many Republicans praised Trump and Vice President JD Vance&rsquo;s behavior as showing strength, while some GOP lawmakers in competitive districts <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/house\/3333945\/republicans-issue-warnings-zelensky-trump-meeting-white-house\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">warned a breakdown in relations could eventually lead to victory for Russia.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/congressional\/3334066\/democrats-economy-inflation-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">GOP BALKS AT DEMOCRATS CARING ABOUT INFLATION: &lsquo;FAKE OUTRAGE&rsquo;<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Tenney set her sights on a different pro-Trump push this year.
