said the latest filing agreed to by Justice lawyers and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.judicialwatch.org\/trial-babbitt-wrongful-death-lawsuit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Washington-based Judicial Watch,<\/a> which is handling the suit for Babbitt&rsquo;s estate and her husband, Aaron Babbitt.<\/p>\n<p>    <iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"scribd_iframe_embed\" title=\"Babbitt Status Report\" src=\"https:\/\/www.scribd.com\/embeds\/834950899\/content?start_page=1&amp;view_mode=scroll&amp;access_key=key-n1e9ptTynKC7Hym4rj0E\" data-auto-height=\"false\" data-aspect-ratio=\"0.7729220222793488\" scrolling=\"no\" id=\"doc_58913\" width=\"100%\" height=\"600\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe>    <\/p>\n<p>The wording is the first to suggest settlement negotiations are underway in the $30 million lawsuit filed by Judicial Watch last January.<\/p>\n<p>It follows the pardoning by President Donald Trump of the hundreds charged and convicted of participating in the riots described by liberals as a threat to democracy and conservatives as a protest to Biden&rsquo;s election over Trump in 2020.<\/p>\n<p>While Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton would not discuss the talks, he told Secrets, &ldquo;All we want is justice and we hope the Justice Department under President Trump would share that goal ultimately.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>While there were violent clashes that day as protesters tried to enter the Capitol and disrupt the certification of Biden&rsquo;s election, only Babbitt was shot by the police.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\"> <iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"What About Ashli Babbitt?!\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/PDHWD_fQpg4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; Michael Byrd.<\/p>\n<p>Fitton&rsquo;s Judicial Watch has unleashed a flurry of Freedom of Information Act lawsuits that have shown how the Capitol Police tried to hide Byrd after the shooting. The prominent legal group also won the release of documents calling into question his performance and training.<\/p>\n<p>In a video released by the legal watchdog, the unarmed Babbitt is shown being pushed through a doorway into the Speaker&rsquo;s Lobby as Byrd shot without warning.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/washington-secrets\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SEE THE LATEST POLITICAL NEWS AND BUZZ FROM WASHINGTON SECRETS<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to the suit, &ldquo;Ashli remained conscious for minutes or longer after being shot by Lt. Byrd. Ashli experienced <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/a-list-manager-for-kardashians-kanye-west-murdered-in-los-angeles\/\" title=\"A-List Manager for Kardashians, Kanye West Murdered in Los Angeles\">extreme pain<\/a>, suffering, mental anguish, and intense fear before slipping into pre-terminal unconsciousness. The autopsy report identified the cause of death as a &lsquo;gunshot wound to left anterior shoulder&rsquo; with an onset interval of &lsquo;minutes.&rsquo; The fact that Ashli was alive and conscious in extreme pain and suffering is documented in videos of the shooting. Furthermore, nothing about the wound track described in the autopsy report would be expected to result in immediate death or instantaneous loss of consciousness, and Ashli&rsquo;s lungs contained blood, further confirming that she was alive and breathing after being shot.
