Namely, the number of self-identified U.S. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/70-christians-beheaded-church-media-nowhere-found\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Christians<\/a> fell from 78 percent in 2007, to 71 percent in 2014, and now to 62 percent.<\/p>\n<p>Those of us who lived in the world since 2007 could have guessed as much.<\/p>\n<p>However, we also could have guessed the leveling off of that trend since 2020.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;[F]or the last five years, between 2019 and 2024, the Christian  of the adult population has been relatively stable, hovering between 60 percent and 64 percent,&rdquo; per PRC.<\/p>\n<p>Ryan Burge, a political scientist at Eastern Illinois University, described this as an epochal shift.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We&rsquo;re entering a new era of the American religious landscape,&rdquo; Burge said, per the Times. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/knives-out-for-mcauliffe-in-final-week-of-virginia-primary\/\" title=\"Knives Out for McAuliffe in Final Week of Virginia Primary\">political scientist added<\/a> that the slowing of the decline in religious affiliation constitutes &ldquo;a big deal.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Many factors contributed to the trend, but young people deserve substantial credit.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, David Campbell, a political scientist at the University of Notre Dame, speculated that as young American men have gravitated toward political conservatism in the age of President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-trumps-first-cabinet-meeting-opens-powerful-prayer-jesus-name\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Donald Trump<\/a>, that journey has brought them into Christianity&rsquo;s orbit.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;If you&rsquo;re a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/walsh-race-baiting-media-sounds-alarm-over-white-violence-here-are-the-facts-they-wont-tell-you\/\" title=\"WALSH: Race-Baiting Media Sounds Alarm Over \u2018White Violence.\u2019 Here Are The Facts They Won\u2019t Tell You.\">young white male<\/a> these days and you think of yourself as conservative, then being religious is a part of that,&rdquo; Campbell said.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, the PRC survey results make sense in light of what we have seen across the culture.<\/p>\n<p>Most recently, for instance, billionaire <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/god-working-days-trump-took-office-rfk-jrs-running-mate-came-know-jesus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nicole Shanahan<\/a>, who served as 2024 running mate for then-independent presidential candidate and now Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F.
