The FGA \u200dhas been actively contesting \u2063the biden \u200cgovernance&#8217;s directives in court, awaiting the release of related documents after years of resistance from the Department of Justice.<\/p>\n<p>The controversy mirrors\u2063 prior\u2064 incidents where private funding (referred to\u200d as &#8220;Zuckbucks&#8221;) influenced\u200d election administration, raising alarms about the integrity of federal involvement in elections. In response to Biden&#8217;s\u2063 executive order,nine state attorneys general\u2063 filed a\u200c federal lawsuit,arguing it overstepped legal boundaries and \u200dencroached upon state\u200c voter\u2063 registration processes. However, this lawsuit was withdrawn after Trump&#8217;s reversal of the order.<\/p>\n<p>In Congress, efforts have been \u2063made to limit federal agencies&#8217; roles in voter registration through proposed \u2062legislation, but these bills have stalled. Republican leaders \u200cemphasize the importance of \u200bprotecting the election process from perceived partisan manipulation.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>In his first two months in office, President Joe Biden signed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.federalregister.gov\/documents\/2021\/03\/10\/2021-05087\/promoting-access-to-voting\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Executive Order 14019,<\/a>&nbsp; transforming the federal government into a get-out-the-vote machine for Democrats.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>On his first day back in office, President Donald Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/presidential-actions\/2025\/01\/initial-rescissions-of-harmful-executive-orders-and-actions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">rescinded the order,<\/a> putting an end to the constitutionally suspect directive that election integrity watchdogs referred to as <a href=\"https:\/\/cha.house.gov\/2024\/8\/chairman-steil-subpoenas-five-biden-administration-agency-officials-to-appear-for-sworn-depositions-on-bidenbucks\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&ldquo;Bidenbucks.&rdquo;<\/a><\/p>\n<p>But without congressional action, the next leftist leading the executive branch could easily bring back Bidenbucks and eviscerate the foundation of election integrity.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I think the way that this gets solved going forward is Congress has to enact a law to ensure it doesn&rsquo;t happen again,&rdquo; David Craig, legal director for the <a href=\"https:\/\/thefga.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Foundation for Government Accountability (FGA)<\/a>, told The Federalist in an interview. &ldquo;That is the final development that will forever fence off an administration from trying this in the future.&rdquo;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>FGA has been on the front lines in the battle against Biden&rsquo;s so-called <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/07\/31\/bidenbucks-plan-uses-native-american-school-children-in-voter-registration-scheme\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&ldquo;Promoting Access to Voting&rdquo;<\/a> order for the better part of the past four years. The foundation <a href=\"https:\/\/thefga.org\/blog\/fga-v-doj-bidenbucks-scandal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">sued<\/a> the Biden Department of Justice in April 2022 in federal court after multiple federal agencies shrugged off Freedom of Information Act requests for documents and communications tied to the executive order.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Craig said the DOJ has stonewalled the lawsuit for years, but the foundation expects to receive the requested documents &ldquo;in the short term.&rdquo;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;With this administration taking a different approach from the previous administration, I would say we&rsquo;re optimistic,&rdquo; the attorney said.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Federalized &lsquo;Zuckbucks&rsquo;<\/h2>\n<p>As The Federalist has <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/07\/01\/no-one-knows-how-much-bidenbucks-is-costing-taxpayers-not-even-congress\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a>, Biden&rsquo;s fiat instructed federal agencies to assist in a <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">nationwide voter registration promotion campaign<\/a>.&nbsp;While it was sold as a democracy-strengthening initiative, the politically tainted campaign was created by far-left activists and carried out with the support of leftist nonprofits. The documents that the Biden administration begrudgingly turned over to the FGA and other election integrity groups exposed a concerted effort to use&nbsp; taxpayer money to turn out traditionally left-leaning voters.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The sweeping executive order was dubbed &ldquo;Bidenbucks&rdquo; because of its similarities to <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/12\/26\/the-incoming-congress-should-immediately-ban-zuckbucks-across-the-nation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&ldquo;Zuckbucks,&rdquo;<\/a> the hundreds of millions of dollars pumped into the local administration of the 2020 elections by Meta\/Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg. The Chicago-based <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2021\/10\/14\/zuckerbucks-101-how-a-media-mogul-took-over-the-2020-election-and-why-gop-leaders-must-never-let-it-happen-again\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Center for Tech and Civic Life<\/a>, a leftist organization led by former President Barack Obama team veterans, handed out election administration grants under the cover of Covid. The <a href=\"https:\/\/capitalresearch.org\/article\/shining-a-light-on-zuck-bucks-in-key-states\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">brunt of the grants<\/a> went to Democrat-led cities in swing states to turn out left-leaning voters.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>&lsquo;Voter Registration Pitch&rsquo;<\/h2>\n<p>Bidenbucks sparked multiple legal challenges, including a federal <a href=\"https:\/\/www.democracydocket.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/1-2024-08-13-Complaint.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">complaint<\/a> from attorneys general in nine states. Biden&rsquo;s executive order, according to the lawsuit, &ldquo;sought to&nbsp; convert the federal bureaucracy into a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/democrat-senator-raphael-warnock-under-investigation-for-voter-registration-misconduct-reports\/\" title=\"Democrat Senator Raphael Warnock Under Investigation For ... Misconduct: Reports\">voter registration organization<\/a> and to turn every interaction between a federal bureaucrat and a member of the public into a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/states-file-federal-lawsuit-seeking-to-shut-down-bidenbucks\/\" title=\"States File ...suit Seeking To Shut Down &#039;...&#039;\">voter registration pitch<\/a>.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;That exceeds any authority executive entities have under federal law, violates the Constitution, threatens States&rsquo; attempt to regulate voter registration, and thus ultimately undermines the voter registration systems set up by the States,&rdquo; the AGs alleged.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Following Trump&rsquo;s executive order ending Bidenbucks, the states voluntarily withdrew the lawsuit, a spokesman for Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen told The Federalist. Montana, Kansas, South Dakota, Iowa, Mississippi, Nebraska, South Carolina, North Dakota, and Oklahoma all signed off on the agreement, according to a <a href=\"https:\/\/storage.courtlistener.com\/recap\/gov.uscourts.ksd.153807\/gov.uscourts.ksd.153807.37.0.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">notice <\/a>filed on Jan. 27 in the U.S. District Court in Wichita, Kansas.<\/p>\n<p>So now it&rsquo;s up to Congress.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Blocking Bidenbucks for Good<\/h2>\n<p>The Republican-controlled House has tried. In 2023, the House Administration Committee passed the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/118th-congress\/house-bill\/6493\/text\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> Promoting Free and Fair Elections Act,<\/a> which would &ldquo;limit the involvement of Federal agencies in voter registration activities.&rdquo; The bill would <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/exclusive-senate-republicans-to-introduce-legislation-to-block-federal-agencies-from-requiring-proof-of-vaccination\/\" title=\"EXCLUSIVE: Senate Republicans To Introduce Legislation To Block ... From Requiring Proof Of Vaccination\">block federal agencies<\/a> from entering into agreements with nongovernmental organizations to conduct registration drives or voter mobilization activities.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Voting is one of our most sacred rights as American citizens, and it must be protected,&rdquo; Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-N.Y.), co-chair of the Election Integrity Caucus, <a href=\"https:\/\/tenney.house.gov\/media\/press-releases\/tenney-backs-bill-stop-bidens-federal-election-takeover-plans\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a> in 2022 when she and Sen. Ted Budd (R-N.C.) first introduced the bill.
