Despite criticism from President Trump and Elon Musk, Vought affirmed \u200bthat the CFPB is not closing down.<\/p>\n<p>He pointed to staff protests, which have led to the closure of the CFPB Headquarters and increased\u2062 supervision due to disruptive gatherings by employees,\u200c most of whom are working remotely.\u2062 The \u200cCFPB was established \u2064in 2011 to address financial exploitation following the 2008 financial\u200b crisis. President Donald Trump and DOGE head Elon Musk have aired their disapproval of the agency. Musk even posted on X, &ldquo;CFPB RIP,&rdquo; following up on a previous post that said he would &ldquo;delete&rdquo; the agency.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>While CFPB has been under DOGE&rsquo;s scrutiny, Vought said the agency is not going anywhere.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Incoming Presidents of both parties have routinely issued directives that <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">pause policy-related decision-making<\/a> to allow the reevaluation of those policies that were under consideration or under development but not finalized by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/sen-graham-warns-against-changing-trump-era-foreign-polices\/\" title=\"Sen. Graham warns against changing Trump-era foreign polices\">prior administration<\/a>,&rdquo; Vought wrote.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Vought blamed the staff&rsquo;s protests for the rationale behind closing the office.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Those protests involve large and disruptive gatherings outside of the CFPB Headquarters building, even though the overwhelming majority of CFPB employees primarily telework rather than work in the office,&rdquo; Vought wrote. &ldquo;Given these disruptive protests involving the CFPB&rsquo;s own staff, CFPB leadership has closed the CFPB Headquarters Building and tightened staff supervision.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Vought argued that CFPB&rsquo;s union failed to show standing in their lawsuit. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/3228342\/department-of-government-efficiency-what-to-know\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\"><strong>WHAT IS DOGE?
