Kennedy Jr. are fixated on management over prevention and investigation.<\/p>\n<p>When President Donald Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/02\/19\/the-most-pro-family-thing-trump-can-do-is-ditch-his-support-for-child-commodifying-ivf\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">signed an executive order<\/a> vowing to preserve a subset of that industry&rsquo;s ever-growing stream of in vitro fertilization (IVF) customers, Kennedy <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/SecKennedy\/status\/1892249429458964770\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">celebrated it<\/a> as &ldquo;an important strategy for addressing the national crisis on plummeting fertility rates.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<div>\n<figure><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>He also complained about the &ldquo;high costs&rdquo; associated with the procedure but failed to call out the most obvious cause for them: Big Pharma<\/p>\n<p>The corporate pharmaceutical industry plays a significant role in the prevalence of IVF. Various <a href=\"https:\/\/www.goodrx.com\/conditions\/fertility\/ivf-in-vitro-fertilization-medications-cost?label_override=undefined\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">expensive fertility drugs<\/a> are prescribed to hopeful couples to stimulate egg development, trigger or delay ovulation, prepare a woman&rsquo;s endocrine system and womb lining for embryo transfer, and keep certain pregnancy hormones such as progesterone elevated after embryo transfers.<\/p>\n<p>The shots a woman gets during each IVF cycle are so numerous that posing babies with the empty jab applicators that contributed to their creation has become a popular photo trend among people who use <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/china-announces-major-investment-in-ivf-to-reverse-birth-rate-collapse\/\" title=\"China Announces Major Investment in ... to Reverse Birth Rate Collapse\">assisted reproductive technology<\/a> (ART).<\/p>\n<figure><\/figure>\n<p>In addition to his shortsightedness regarding the monetary costs of IVF, Kennedy also failed to count the social and physical costs of reproductive technology &mdash; even though he is likely aware of them. Kennedy&rsquo;s vice presidential pick, Nicole Shanahan, made headlines during his 2024 run for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2024\/03\/28\/robert-f-kennedy-vice-president-nicole-shanahan-ivf-00149523\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">warning against the ubiquity of IVF<\/a> and calling it &ldquo;one of the biggest lies that&rsquo;s being told about women&rsquo;s health today.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Big Fertility, whose biggest seller is IVF, routinely prioritizes&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/08\/14\/its-time-to-stop-treating-assisted-reproductive-technology-as-a-quick-fix-for-infertility\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">profit over people<\/a>. The industry offers anyone and everyone, regardless of their relationship status or sexuality, to buy reproduction <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2021\/06\/22\/abortion-puts-selfish-wants-above-babies-rights-too-often-ivf-does-the-same\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">without regard for<\/a> children&rsquo;s natural rights. The consequences include <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/05\/07\/orchid-healths-genome-testing-promises-healthy-babies-but-delivers-morally-deplorable-eugenics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">normalized eugenics<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/06\/14\/california-bill-would-make-insurance-fund-unlimited-attempts-to-create-motherless-and-fatherless-children\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">forced orphanhood<\/a>, the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/07\/22\/the-global-fertility-industry-seeks-to-erase-women-from-procreation-one-manufactured-egg-at-a-time\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">erasure of women<\/a>&nbsp;in reproduction, <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/12\/14\/we-need-to-get-serious-about-meeting-advances-in-reproductive-tech-with-an-actionable-moral-framework\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">fertility fraud<\/a>, more than a <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/02\/02\/theres-only-one-way-for-the-1-million-embryos-stuck-in-frozen-orphanages-to-make-it-out-alive-adoption\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">million indefinitely frozen embryos<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/03\/25\/what-if-we-can-heal-infertile-women-rather-than-turning-to-expensive-unethical-ivf-treatments-first\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">deliberate ignorance of women&rsquo;s health solutions<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>While it&rsquo;s important for Kennedy to execute the will of the president, as <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/12\/19\/hhs-nominee-rfk-jr-pledges-to-reinstate-pro-life-protections-that-defined-trumps-first-term\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">he promised to do <\/a>with the pro-life protections that defined Trump&rsquo;s first term, it&rsquo;s also important for him to stick to the MAHA script that put him in the running for head of the Department of Health and Human Services in the first place. <\/p>\n<p>Researching and adopting fertility policies that&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/03\/25\/what-if-we-can-heal-infertile-women-rather-than-turning-to-expensive-unethical-ivf-treatments-first\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">address the root causes of infertility<\/a> instead of treating <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/05\/17\/fat-and-infertile-new-study-raises-alarm-over-link-between-obesity-and-low-sperm-count\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">its symptoms<\/a> with a lengthy and costly technological procedure that guarantees nothing but the serial creation and destruction of little lives is undoubtedly on par with the MAHA mission.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/08\/14\/its-time-to-stop-treating-assisted-reproductive-technology-as-a-quick-fix-for-infertility\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Restorative reproductive medicine <\/a>(RRM), as opposed to ART like IVF, gives allegedly infertile couples a chance to understand and treat why they have difficulty conceiving instead of jumping to circumvent natural reproduction to produce a child. One <a href=\"https:\/\/www.preprints.org\/manuscript\/202401.0624\/v1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">preprint study out of Ireland<\/a> specifically found that RRM not only yields a higher live birth rate than IVF, but also records &ldquo;better perinatal outcomes&rdquo; among women and their babies.<\/p>\n<p>State and federal governments&rsquo; encouragement of the <a href=\"https:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/news\/u-fertility-market-expected-reach-140100340.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">multibillion-dollar American ART industry<\/a>, on the other hand, will only enable that industry to grow. That expansion not only threatens the more than a million lives created and abandoned to cryogenic freezers through IVF, but it also undermines the Trump administration and Kennedy&rsquo;s commitment to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/presidential-actions\/2025\/02\/establishing-the-presidents-make-america-healthy-again-commission\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&ldquo;fresh thinking&rdquo;<\/a> on the biggest health crises facing Americans today.<\/p>\n<p>It is noble for the White House, with Kennedy&rsquo;s support, to promote fertility and growing families.
