The incident occurred on a Sunday when \u2064Wilhoite\u2063 parked his vehicle,a 2021 Ford Bronco,in a drop-off lane adn left it\u2062 unattended. Upon returning, an\u2064 officer \u200dinformed him that he could not leave the \u2062vehicle \u2064there. The incident then escalated.<\/p>\n<p>Wilhoite twice told the Denver officer to, &ldquo;Shut the [expletive] up,&rdquo; an affidavit said.<\/p>\n<p>Wilhoite closed in on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/mom-whose-son-allegedly-punched-police-officer-blames-society-nypd-says-kids-going-kids\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">officer<\/a> and &ldquo;bumped his chest&rdquo; into the officer, the affidavit said.<\/p>\n<p>The officer returned the shove, leading to Wilhoite reportedly punching the officer in the face.<\/p>\n<p>After the officer fell, Wilhoite returned to his car and was hit with a Taser. Wilhoite was momentarily shocked then drove away, the affidavit said. He was later arrested.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/councilwoman-punched-cop-head-screamed-officers-investigated-stabbing-home-police\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">officer<\/a> injured his jaw and knees in the incident, the affidavit said.<\/p>\n<p>During a Monday appearance in Denver County Court, Magistrate Arnie Beckman chided Wilhoite<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;These are routine, everyday interactions that thousands of people get through successfully at the airport without assaulting a police officer,&rdquo; Beckman said.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;That a routine, everyday encounter turned violent is concerning to the court,&rdquo; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Wilhoite posted bail Monday and was released.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We are aware of a situation involving Michael Wilhoite that occurred Sunday and are in the process of gathering more information,&rdquo; the Broncos said in a statement, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcsports.com\/nfl\/profootballtalk\/rumor-mill\/news\/broncos-lb-coach-michael-wilhoite-arrested-accused-of-assaulting-a-police-officer\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NBC<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Wilhoite, 38, joined the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/nfl-reddit-trashing-denver-broncos\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Broncos<\/a> in 2023, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.9news.com\/article\/sports\/nfl\/denver-broncos\/mike-klis\/broncos-coach-wilhoite-arrested-denver\/73-26d83bde-a6c0-4012-8a0f-03ce0328f2f3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">KUSA<\/a>. He played for the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks, ending his playing career in 2017.<\/p>\n<p>He was a special teams assistant coach for the New Orleans Saints in 2019 and a defensive assistant coach for the Saints in 2020.
