During \u200ca press conference, Shapiro emphasized that he would continue to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/senate-committee-deadlocks-on-becerra-nomination\/\" title=\"Senate Committee Deadlocks on Becerra Nomination\">pursue legal action<\/a>\u200c regarding the funding issues, referencing a lawsuit involving 23\u2062 states and Washington, D.C. He expressed satisfaction \u2063that all funds identified in the\u200d lawsuit were no longer frozen and could now support critical state projects, \u2064including programs aimed at preventing sinkholes and <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">making abandoned mines safer<\/a>. During his visit, he said he personally discussed the pending litigation with senior Trump officials, as well as Sen. Dave McCormick (R-PA). The discussion came about a week after he filed the lawsuit.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I urged them to follow the law and to honor their agreements with Pennsylvania. As a result of that direct engagement last week, our funding is unfrozen,&rdquo; Shapiro said.<\/p>\n<p>The aid was approved by Congress and is for programs that &ldquo;prevent sinkholes and make abandoned mines safe,&rdquo; according to Shapiro, and toward reducing home energy costs.<\/p>\n<p>The Trump administration said the funding freeze was temporary while determining the best use for the money. Additionally, the Office of Management and Budget rescinded its memo announcing another freeze on federal grants.<\/p>\n<p>Still, five agencies face a lawsuit brought by nearly two dozen Democratic governors.
