Maybe you can count the Keystone XL pipeline supporters among them, soon enough.<\/p>\n<p>Because, at least according to his social media account, President Trump wants the pipeline project back &mdash; even more bigly than before.<\/p>\n<p>In a post to  on Monday, Trump announced that he wanted to resurrect the pipeline project that former President Joe Biden killed via executive fiat on his first day in office after pressure from environmental activist groups.<\/p>\n<p>The project was designed to extend the Keystone Pipeline System, which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/barely-1-month-biden-nixed-super-safe-keystone-xl-train-carrying-oil-explodes-tx\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">carries crude oil from Canada<\/a> to refineries on the Gulf Coast of the United States.<\/p>\n<p>However, spurred on by a more general animus toward anything that involved oil &mdash; which they blame for climate change &mdash; and a more specific, if even more specious, claim that the project might pose a threat to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/business\/environment\/keystone-xl-primer-how-the-pipelines-route-could-impact-the-ogallala-aquifer-idUS4208821157\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ogallala aquifer<\/a>, progressive groups and Native American tribes teamed up for protests in South Dakota, which went viral on social media, making killing off the project a cause c&eacute;l&egrave;bre on the left.<\/p>\n<p> <script type=\"text\/javascript\"> \t\t\tif ( getCookie( \"ff_subbed\" ) ) { \t\t\t\tdocument.getElementById(\"stnvideo\").remove() \t\t\t} \t\t<\/script> <\/p>\n<p>Biden&rsquo;s order killed off <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ted-cruz-fact-checks-fact-checkers-keystone-xl-job-claims\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">roughly 11,000 jobs<\/a> that would have been associated with the pipeline, although other estimates have pegged the number at more or less.<\/p>\n<p>(At almost the same time, it&rsquo;s worth noting Biden encouraged the Europeans to go forward with the Nord Stream 2 pipeline project with Russia, which would have made the continent even more dependent on Moscow than it already was for its energy needs. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/months-biden-refused-sanction-russian-nord-stream-2-pipeline-germany-halts-certification\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nothing bad<\/a> ever <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/bombshell-wapo-article-alleges-ukraine-behind-sabotage-nord-stream-pipeline\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">came of that<\/a>. Trump wants to get it done. According to his social media, President Trump is eager to revive the pipeline project that former President Joe Biden halted on his first day in office due to pressure from environmental activists. The Keystone XL was intended to expand the existing Keystone Pipeline System, which transports crude oil from Canada to U.S. Gulf Coast refineries. However, driven by a broader opposition to fossil fuels\u2014blamed for climate change\u2014and specific concerns about potential risks to the Ogallala aquifer, progressive groups and Native American tribes protested in South Dakota, turning the cancellation of the project into a significant issue for the left.<\/p>\n<p>Biden&#8217;s decision eliminated approximately 11,000 jobs linked to the pipeline; other estimates vary slightly. Interestingly, around that same time, Biden encouraged European nations to proceed with Russia&#8217;s Nord Stream 2 pipeline project\u2014an initiative that would increase Europe&#8217;s energy dependence on Moscow without any negative consequences.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, Trump casually suggested reviving the Keystone XL pipeline while riding a wave of success: \u201cOur Country\u2019s doing really well,\u201d he posted. \u201cI was just thinking that the company building the Keystone XL Pipeline\u2014which was brutally abandoned by Sleepy Joe Biden\u2014should return and get it built NOW! They were treated very poorly by him; however, under my administration there will be easy approvals and an almost immediate start! If not them, then perhaps another company can take over.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>This announcement gained traction on social media for various reasons. Many praised any steps toward enhancing U.S. energy independence despite opposition from a vocal minority advocating for reduced growth: <\/p>\n<p>\u201cBREAKING: Karoline Leavitt just revealed Trump plans to contact Keystone XL\u2019s builders! This is how we achieve energy independence and create THOUSANDS of jobs!\u201d tweeted Gunther Eagleman.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m all in favor\u2014let\u2019s bring back Keystone XL! It would generate thousands of high-paying jobs and significantly boost our economy,\u201d added Randy Weber.<\/p>\n<p>Others noted recent complaints from government officials about job cuts at agencies like USAID and IRS while contrasting their situation with those affected by Biden&#8217;s cancellation of Keystone XL\u2014a move impacting skilled construction workers rather than bureaucrats.<\/p>\n<p>While one post does not constitute an official energy policy shift, when Trump expresses support for initiatives aligned with GOP interests, party members typically rally behind it quickly. Given current needs for energy independence from adversarial nations like Russia, Democrats may offer only minimal resistance this time around.<\/p>\n<p>The call against &#8220;Kill Keystone XL!&#8221; has lost its potency among activist circles as they focus on newer issues elsewhere where they lack real influence over outcomes.
