wrote Lamberth.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The judge did not evaluate the plaintiff&rsquo;s Fourteenth Amendment equal protection claim or their other arguments.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In January, U.S. District Judge George O&rsquo;Toole <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/justice\/3306364\/federal-judge-transgender-inmate-prison-trump-order\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"issued\">issued<\/a> a temporary restraining order that prevented federal prisons from relocating an inmate in Massachusetts, referred to in court filings as Marie Moe.<\/p>\n<p>The multi-plaintiff lawsuit in D.C. echoes the arguments made by Moe that trans-identified inmates face a high risk of violence, sexual assault, and harassment in male prisons and that losing access to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/transgender-inmate-sues-over-trump-order-on-biological-sex-washington-examiner\/\" title=\"Transgender inmate sues over Trump ... on ... - Washington Examiner\">long-standing hormone treatment<\/a> would cause irreparable harm.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Trump&rsquo;s controversial day-one executive order, entitled &ldquo;Defending Women from Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government,&rdquo; said that single-sex spaces are a necessity for the safety of biological women who have also, in certain circumstances, experienced violence and harassment from trans-identified inmates when housed in the same facility.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\"><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>During the 2024 presidential campaign, Trump<a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2024\/11\/15\/nx-s1-5181967\/what-trumps-reelection-could-mean-for-transgender-health-care-access\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\" solidified\"> solidified<\/a> support among swing-state voters by highlighting that his opponent, former Vice President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/kamala-harris\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Kamala Harris\">Kamala Harris<\/a>, supported using government funds to support hormonal and surgical therapies for transgender inmates in the California prison system while she was Attorney General of the state.<\/p>\n<p>Trump&rsquo;s ad campaign of &ldquo;Kamala is for they\/them.
