Elon Musk, who has been overseeing cuts to the federal workforce at the Department of Government Efficiency, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/3327295\/federal-workers-who-dont-email-weekly-achievements-will-lose-their-job-musk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"said\">said<\/a> in a post on X that &ldquo;failure to respond will be taken as a resignation.&rdquo; The deadline established in the email to respond is 11:59 p.m. on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The updated <a href=\"https:\/\/storage.courtlistener.com\/recap\/gov.uscourts.cand.444883\/gov.uscourts.cand.444883.17.0.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"lawsuit\">lawsuit<\/a>, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California on Sunday, says the actions are unprecedented and argued procedural requirements have not been complied with.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Prior to February 22, 2025, no notice was published, in the Federal Register or anywhere else, regarding any OPM program, rule, policy, or regulation requiring all federal employees to provide a report regarding their work to OPM,&rdquo; the lawsuit said.<\/p>\n<p>The amended lawsuit continued by saying there was also no regulation that &ldquo;employees who failed to respond to an email from&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/cdn-cgi\/l\/email-protection#660e142609160b48010910\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span class=\"__cf_email__\" data-cfemail=\"d2baa092bda2bffcb5bda4\">[email&nbsp;protected]<\/span><\/a>&nbsp;requesting such a report would be considered to have submitted a &lsquo;resignation&rsquo;
