HUD spokesperson Kasey Lovett criticized the event as a &#8220;waste of taxpayer dollars and\u200d resources,&#8221; although she did not clarify \u2064the specifics of that claim. The video&#8217;s text seemed \u200dto reference Trump&#8217;s previous self-identification as a king. It is not known who was behind the apparent hack.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Another waste of taxpayer dollars and resources. Appropriate action will be taken for all involved,&rdquo; HUD spokeswoman Kasey Lovett said in a statement to the <em>Washington Examiner. <\/em>She did not explain how these images were a waste of taxpayer dollars or resources when asked to clarify.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/video-actually-shows-tzedek-association-appreciation-event-not-celebration-of-j-d-vance-as-vice-president-pick\/\" title=\"Video actually shows Tzedek Association appreciation event, not celebration of J.D. Vance as ... pick\">video&#038;rsquo<\/a>;s text was likely a reference to a recent Trump post in which he referred to himself as a king.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;LONG LIVE THE KING!&rdquo; Trump wrote in a post on his social media platform Truth Social regarding his administration&rsquo;s moves to ax New York City&rsquo;s conjunction pricing model.<\/p>\n<p>Musk has grown increasingly influential in the Trump administration, recently appearing in the Oval Office over Trump&rsquo;s shoulder to take questions from the press. Some Democrats have declared that Musk is the president rather than Trump in hopes the message will take hold with Trump.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;At least we know who&rsquo;s in charge. He&rsquo;s president, and Trump is now vice president,&rdquo; Rep. Jim McGovern (D-MA) said in December 2024. Similarly, Rep. Robert Garcia (D-CA) posted on social media, &ldquo;Welcome to the Elon Musk presidency.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Some believe Trump and Musk will eventually have a falling out, citing the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.brookings.edu\/articles\/and-then-there-were-ten-with-85-turnover-across-president-trumps-a-team-who-remains\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">constant turnover<\/a> of officials in the first Trump administration as evidence that it will be inevitable.
