six defense attorneys, according to&nbsp;the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/02\/21\/us-news\/sean-diddy-combs-lawyer-quits-sex-trafficking-case-under-no-circumstances-can-i-continue\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York Post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Under no circumstances can I continue to effectively serve as counsel for Sean Combs,&rdquo; the lawyer wrote.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;It is respectfully but regrettably requested that the court grant the relief requested.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Before the move is official, however, a judge must formally approve.<\/p>\n<p> <script type=\"text\/javascript\"> \t\t\tif ( getCookie( \"ff_subbed\" ) ) { \t\t\t\tdocument.getElementById(\"stnvideo\").remove() \t\t\t} \t\t<\/script> <\/p>\n<p>Ricco did not say exactly why he wanted to leave the case.<\/p>\n<p>But he did note that the request came after he spoke with Marc Agnifilo, the lead attorney defending <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/rapper-diddy-makes-extremely-bizarre-promise-judge-desperately-wants-granted-bail\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Combs<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Ricco offered that the &ldquo;brevity&rdquo; of his affidavit requesting the dismissal was intended to <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">avoid releasing information protected<\/a> under attorney-client privilege.<\/p>\n<p>He informed the judge that &ldquo;there are sufficient reasons&rdquo; he should be removed.<\/p>\n<p>Ricco added that Combs &ldquo;will continue to be represented by five other attorneys of record,&rdquo; meaning that the resignation would not delay the expected trial, currently scheduled for May 5.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ap-rap-star-sean-diddy-combs-arrested-sex-trafficking-charges\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Combs<\/a> will be defended from charges related to sex trafficking and racketeering.<\/p>\n<p>The rapper allegedly abused women while forcing them to take part in erotic &ldquo;Freak Off&rdquo; performances in attempts to gratify his &ldquo;sexual desires,&rdquo; federal prosecutors previously claimed, per&nbsp;the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/09\/17\/us-news\/sean-diddy-combs-charged-in-sex-trafficking-probe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York Post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;To do so, Combs relied on the employees, resources, and influence of the multi-faceted business empire that he led and controlled,&rdquo; the indictment said.<\/p>\n<p>Combs allegedly created &ldquo;a criminal enterprise whose members and associates engaged in, and attempted to engage in, among other crimes, sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The rapper allegedly lured females and male prostitutes into the &ldquo;Freak Offs,&rdquo; which lasted for days and were fueled by drugs.<\/p>\n<p>The substances were allegedly used to keep the women &ldquo;obedient and compliant&rdquo; after they were lured into the behavior, allegedly under the pretense of romantic relationships.<\/p>\n<p>Combs allegedly filmed the encounters as leverage against the partakers.<\/p>\n<p>The victims would then receive IV fluids to &ldquo;recover from the physical exertion and drug use,&rdquo; according to the prosecutors.<\/p>\n<p>His <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/alleged-perpetrators-revealed-sean-diddy-combs-case-names-will-shock\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">staff<\/a> would allegedly enable the &ldquo;Freak Offs&rdquo;
