Rich McCormick (R-GA) was confronted by enraged residents at a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/house\/3325982\/rich-mccormick-confronted-contentious-georgia-town-hall-doge-support\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">town hall Thursday<\/a> over his support of <a href=\"https:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/elon-musk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Elon Musk<\/a>&rsquo;s role in the new administration. The congressman continuously tried to calm the riled-up crowd but ultimately failed.<\/p>\n<p>McCormick is not the only Republican who has been met with angry constituents as DOGE continues on its mission to slash spending and dismantle federal agencies &mdash; costing jobs for thousands of federal workers and worrying lawmakers in both parties about the scope of Musk&rsquo;s role in government.<\/p>\n<div class=\"tpd-featured-video featured-post-video in-content bridtv\">\n<div id=\"Brid_2016066\" class=\"brid\" style=\"width:1280;height:720;\"> <\/div>\n<div class=\"tpd-featured-video-placeholder\" style=\"position:relative;overflow:hidden;width:100%;padding-top:56.25%;background-color:#000;\">\n<div style=\"position:absolute;top:0;left:0;bottom:0;right:0;width:100%;height:100%\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Rep. Cliff Bentz (R-OR) was also met by distressed constituents at a town hall meeting in his district.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;When I was in the service, there was a chain of command that we answered to somebody, I don&rsquo;t see him [Musk] answering to anybody,&rdquo; a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=61a8uS2EN7A\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">constituent said<\/a> to Bentz after stating the office has not responded to any of his concerns.<\/p>\n<p>The outrage comes as over <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/3322422\/thousands-federal-employees-lose-jobs-doge-shrink-workforce\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">10,000 federal workers<\/a> and counting have been fired as part of Trump&rsquo;s agenda to reduce the government workforce, a result of DOGE&rsquo;s budget slashing aimed at reducing federal government spending.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/3319765\/usaid-employees-file-lawsuit-against-elon-musk-lacking-officer-status\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Musk<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/justice\/3321881\/judge-skeptical-challenge-bar-musk-federal-data\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Department of Justice<\/a> have been met with lawsuits claiming the billionaire&rsquo;s overreach when <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">accessing guarded government data<\/a>, which includes sensitive information about the American public.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The lawsuit filed by a group of state Democratic attorneys general to prohibit Musk and DOGE from accessing government information systems &mdash; at a range of departments &mdash; was blocked by U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan earlier this week.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Rep. Maxwell Frost (D-FL) also hosted a town hall where he discussed a wide range of topics, including DOGE &mdash; one of his &ldquo;major concerns&rdquo; with the new administration.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I would say 99% of the room, that was their main concern, is DOGE, Elon Musk and what the president is doing on immigration,&rdquo; Frost told the<em> Washington Examiner<\/em>.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Frost gave his constituents a timeline of the next two years leading up to the midterm elections, highlighting how Democrats can push back.<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Democrats are fired up right now, and they&rsquo;re upset about what&rsquo;s going on with an unelected billionaire looking into these programs that a lot of working-class people depend on,&rdquo; Frost told the <em>Washington Examiner<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Multiple House GOP staffers confirmed to the <em>Washington Examiner<\/em> that calls roll in daily with constituents complaining about the overreach of DOGE, stating that the calls regarding the office are largely negative.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/3325577\/cpac-attendees-split-doge-payments-taxpayers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\"><strong>CPAC ATTENDEES SPLIT ON POSSIBLE $5,000 DOGE PAYMENTS TO TAXPAYERS<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>As House Democrats continue to &ldquo;sound the alarm&rdquo; on the Trump administration, House Republican members relentlessly back Trump and Musk, with some looking to pursue congressional action to make his executive orders permanent.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I fully support President Trump&rsquo;s agenda to rein in our bloated federal government &amp; put Americans first,&rdquo; Rep. Troy Balderson (R-OH) wrote on X. &ldquo;Now, it&rsquo;s time for Congress to act.
