The team hopes to accomplish all of its work by July 4, 2026.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;When I set up DOGE with Elon, back in October, I flew down to Texas, got Elon Musk to do it, and here was our agreement, that Elon was going to cut $1 trillion of waste, fraud, and abuse,&rdquo; Lutnick said on Fox News&rsquo;s <em>Jesse Watters Primetime<\/em>. &ldquo;So he&rsquo;s going to cut 1 trillion, and then we get rid of all these tax scams that hammer against America, and we are going to raise $1 trillion of revenue. We have to use tariffs.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Legal challenges have obstructed&nbsp;DOGE&rsquo;s efforts. While a lawsuit attempting to keep&nbsp;DOGE&nbsp;out of the data from the&nbsp;Labor&nbsp;Department was dismissed, and another attempt from 13 Democratic attorney generals was similarly thrown out, one U.S. district judge ruled against the department accessing the U.S. Treasury.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/house\/3323818\/kat-cammack-democrats-concede-good-rooting-waste-doge\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">KAT CAMMACK SAYS DEMOCRATS WON&rsquo;T CONCEDE &lsquo;THE GOOD IN ROOTING OUT WASTE&rsquo; BY DOGE<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>President Trump is attempting to win Americans over to DOGE&rsquo;s side by supporting &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/3324589\/trump-backs-doge-dividend-floats-debt-paydown-musk-savings\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"DOGE dividends\">DOGE dividends<\/a>&rdquo; to pay taxpayers back the savings from the federal budget. <\/p>\n<p>Lutnick is Trump&rsquo;s most recent Cabinet nominee.
