But what would stop a future Democrat president from undoing this?<\/p>\n<p>Executive orders can simply be reversed &mdash; which can be good, since this is what allowed Trump to undo former President Joe Biden&rsquo;s executive orders like the one that turned federal agencies into Democrat <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/01\/23\/trump-erases-bidenbucks-and-taxpayer-funded-leftist-voter-registration-drives\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">get-out-the-vote<\/a> machines. But many of Trump&rsquo;s most vital executive orders &mdash; like &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/presidential-actions\/2025\/01\/protecting-children-from-chemical-and-surgical-mutilation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Protecting Children From Chemical and Surgical Mutilation<\/a>&rdquo; &mdash; have already drawn <a href=\"https:\/\/washingtonstatestandard.com\/2025\/02\/07\/washington-ag-sues-over-trump-order-seeking-to-cut-care-for-trans-youth\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">lawfare<\/a> attacks from deep blue states like Washington.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2 d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-759845590\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1463670073398-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Through executive orders, Trump has brought the censorship-industrial complex to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/presidential-actions\/2025\/01\/restoring-freedom-of-speech-and-ending-federal-censorship\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">brink<\/a> of death. He has taken steps to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/presidential-actions\/2025\/01\/protecting-children-from-chemical-and-surgical-mutilation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">protect<\/a> children from genital mutilation in the form of &ldquo;transgender&rdquo; surgeries. He has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/presidential-actions\/2025\/01\/ending-radical-and-wasteful-government-dei-programs-and-preferencing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">sent<\/a> DEI to die. Through the Department of Government Efficiency, Trump is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/us\/more-usaid-staff-ousted-trump-administration-dismantles-aid-agency-2025-02-02\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">dismantling<\/a> the bloated bureaucracy that has been using billions of taxpayer dollars in a massive <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/trump-issues-warning-about-wasteful-spending-orders-radical-transparency-amid-doge-probes-revelations\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">leftist-funding scam<\/a>. Republicans have only dreamed of such progress since before President Ronald Reagan. But without further action, this progress could disappear in just four years.<\/p>\n<p>While Republicans still control both chambers of Congress &mdash; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.senate.gov\/history\/partydiv.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">53-45<\/a> in the Senate, and <a href=\"https:\/\/pressgallery.house.gov\/member-data\/party-breakdown\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">218-215<\/a> in the House &mdash; they must act swiftly to turn Trump&rsquo;s executive orders into law. Come midterms in 2026, control of both chambers will not be guaranteed. So while Republican Speaker Mike Johnson <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/SpeakerJohnson\/status\/1875230086611272150?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">committed<\/a> to &ldquo;advancing President Trump&rsquo;s America First agenda,&rdquo; Congress must quickly step into its purpose. That means stepping out, away from the <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/tag\/lobbyists\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">influence<\/a> of lobbyists and special interests, to pass laws that place the American people first.<\/p>\n<p>Americans resoundingly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/elections\/2012\/results\/president.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">rejected<\/a> the do-nothing &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/tag\/establishment\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">establishment<\/a>&rdquo; GOP of Mitt Romney in 2012 &mdash; and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/2016-election\/trump-forces-didn-t-just-beat-establishment-they-overran-it-n570851\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">again<\/a> with the bellwether Republican nomination of Trump in 2016, and again with his Republican <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/interactive\/2024\/11\/05\/us\/elections\/results-president.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">landslide<\/a> (and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-speaks-crowd-roars-as-he-announces-how-hes-entering-the-white-house\/\" title=\"Trump Speaks, Crowd Roars as He Announces How He&#039;s Entering the White House\">popular vote victory<\/a>) in November&rsquo;s election. If former Vice President Kamala Harris&rsquo; <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">astroturf presidential campaign &#038;mdash<\/a>; which started with a &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/07\/24\/democrats-forced-joe-biden-to-drop-out-how-did-they-do-it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">soft coup<\/a>&rdquo; of former President Joe Biden &mdash; taught anything, it is that <a href=\"https:\/\/peoplesaction.org\/leading-progressive-groups-endorse-vp-kamala-harris-for-president-announce-massive-grassroots-organizing-push\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">special interest groups<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/news\/2024\/nov\/11\/kamala-harris-campaign-spent-20-million-celebrity-\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">millions<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/kamala-harris\/clashes-confusion-secrecy-consume-harris-campaign-finances-rcna179654\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">of dollars<\/a> can no longer buy elections&nbsp;on their own. Politicians must also have the&nbsp;support of the people for their campaigns to succeed.<\/p>\n<p>When Trump reaches his term limit in four years, Republicans will be expected to carry on the America First movement that drew together an unlikely alliance to save America &mdash; from former Democrat Rep. <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/tag\/tulsi-gabbard\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Tulsi Gabbard<\/a> (now Director of National Intelligence) to health activist and former Democrat <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/tag\/rfk-jr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Robert F. Kennedy Jr.<\/a> (now secretary of Health and Human Services) to billionaire <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/tag\/elon-musk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Elon Musk<\/a> (now leading DOGE).&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>So if Republicans in Congress sit on their hands for the next two years &mdash; and allow a future Democrat president to return power to unelected bureaucrats &mdash; they can expect to be primaried.
