In contrast, only 35% would support such a change, although a slim majority of Republicans \u2062favored it. It&rsquo;s too late.<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-paywall\">\n<p>The newest <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rasmussenreports.com\/public_content\/politics\/trump_administration_second_term\/trump_2028_many_think_he_could_win_a_third_term\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Rasmussen Reports<\/a> survey shared with Secrets on Wednesday just did, and it&rsquo;s pretty much what the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-tees-up-a-golfball-says-hell-be-47th-president-of-the-united-states\/\" title=\"Trump Tees Up A Golfball, Says He\u2019ll Be \u201947th\u2019 ... Of The United States\">47th president<\/a> would like to hear.<\/p>\n<p>While the nation continues to approach amending the Constitution with extreme caution, most agree that if the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/house\/3299285\/ogles-introduces-resolution-allow-trump-seek-third-term\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">22nd Amendment<\/a> were to be eliminated or adjusted to allow for more than two terms, Trump would slide in with ease in 2028.<\/p>\n<p>Rasmussen asked likely voters, &ldquo;If the 22nd Amendment were to be repealed, how likely is it that President Donald Trump would be reelected to a third term?&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Fifty-three percent said it is likely he would win, and 35% said he wouldn&rsquo;t. And of those who said he would get a third term, 32% said it would be &ldquo;very likely,&rdquo; the most positive outlook.<\/p>\n<p>Republicans and conservatives cheered the most at over 70%. But even 39% of Democrats said Trump would likely win.<\/p>\n<p>Legislation has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/watch\/1948846\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">been introduced<\/a> to change the 22nd Amendment, though it is unlikely to move forward.<\/p>\n<p>Democrats haven&rsquo;t figured out yet who might run for president in 2028, but former Vice President Kamala Harris remains the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ted-cruz-responds-to-2024-presidential-rumors\/\" title=\"Ted Cruz Responds To 2024 ...ial Rumors\">poll leader<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Significantly, the 53% who said it was likely Trump would get a third term is higher than his 49.9% vote total against Harris last November.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/washington-secrets\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SEE THE LATEST POLITICAL NEWS AND BUZZ FROM WASHINGTON SECRETS<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>But to get to a third term, the nation would have to agree to change the <a href=\"https:\/\/constitutioncenter.org\/the-constitution\/amendments\/amendment-xxii\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">22nd Amendment&rsquo;s term limits<\/a>, and the poll found that would be unlikely.<\/p>\n<p>Asked if they would approve of repealing the amendment, 59% said no, and 35% would approve of the change.
