Trump initiated this lawsuit in 2022, contesting the Pulitzer Prize awards given to The New York Times and The Washington Post for their reporting on the now-discredited claims of collusion between his campaign and Russia during the 2016 election. In 2018, these publications received prizes for articles asserting that such collusion was real. However, Special Counsel Robert Mueller concluded in 2019 that there was no conspiracy or coordination between Russia and Trump or his campaign. Judge Edward Artau noted in a recent ruling that Trump had sent letters demanding the revocation of these awards, claiming that by standing by their decision, the Pulitzer Board perpetuated falsehoods about him. The board maintained its stance, stating none of its awarded submissions were discredited by later facts.
