along with other protesters &mdash; blocked an intersection along the main street.<\/p>\n<p>Security footage showed the moment that veteran Danny Pruitt stopped at the intersection before inching forward to slowly pass through the crowd.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WARNING: The following video contains images that some may find offensive.<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"firefly-embed\"> <iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/5AMqJ2C4K4g?si=HwJf9TQRZwOHrsZy&amp;start=36\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>Marshall is then seen removing a pistol from his waistband, and he later admitted to shooting Pruitt through the back window of the truck, KUSA reported.<\/p>\n<p>He claimed he shot Pruitt in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-witness-caught-lying-lawyer-nicolae-mius-self-defense-trial-situation-left-5-people-stabbed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">self-defense<\/a> because he was afraid for his wife, who he said was hit by the truck.<\/p>\n<p>But an officer reviewing the footage said he didn&rsquo;t see the truck make contact with Marshall&rsquo;s wife.<\/p>\n<p>Pruitt survived the shooting but suffered a traumatic brain injury, according to the Citizen.<\/p>\n<p>He reportedly entered a 17-day induced coma and had to relearn how to shower and perform other basic tasks like brushing his teeth.<\/p>\n<p>The bullet is still in his brain and has permanently damaged his short-term memory, attention span, emotional control, and other basic functions, according to the news outlet.<\/p>\n<p>Marshall initially faced the following charges for his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/soft-crime-blue-state-felon-compassionate-release-going-straight-back-prison\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">crimes<\/a>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Criminal attempt to commit 2nd-degree murder<\/li>\n<li>1st-degree assault<\/li>\n<li>Reckless endangerment<\/li>\n<li>Felony menacing<\/li>\n<li>Criminal mischief<\/li>\n<li>Illegal discharge of a firearm<\/li>\n<li>Prohibited use of weapons<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>But in a special plea deal with Alamosa District Attorney Alonzo Payne, who is linked to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsbusters.org\/blogs\/business\/tim-kilcullen\/2024\/08\/13\/who-are-126-soros-prosecutors\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">George Soros<\/a>, Marshall ultimately faced a single charge: tampering with a deceased human body.<\/p>\n<p>Although a third-degree felony, the charge isn&rsquo;t a crime of violence, does not indicate that a deadly weapon was used in the crime, and in this instance required a &ldquo;waiver of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greghillassociates.com\/why-is-a-factual-basis-for-a-plea-important.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">factual basis<\/a>,&rdquo; according to the Citizen.<\/p>\n<p>Matthew Beresky, an attorney with Rocky Mountain Victim Rights Center representing Pruitt, issued a statement condemning the plea deal.<\/p>\n<p>Beresky said it &ldquo;offends the very concept of justice and does not reflect the nature of the crime or its effect,&rdquo;
