Fulfill \u2018Diversity\u2019 Quota In Job Application Process\">job application process<\/a>, not an entitlement for permanent employment. Agencies are <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">taking independent action<\/a> in light of the recent hiring freeze and in support of the President&rsquo;s broader efforts to restructure and streamline the federal government to better serve the American people at the highest possible standard,&rdquo; an OPM spokesperson <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/administration\/5144113-federal-probationary-employees-fired\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">told<\/a> the <em>Hill<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The outlet cited a person familiar with the agency with saying that all probationary employees will be fired &ldquo;with some exceptions.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The move appears to be another step in the Trump administration&rsquo;s cutdown of the federal workforce in an attempt to save money across the federal government. A deferred resignation offer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/3319205\/75000-federal-employees-take-trump-resignation-offer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">enticed tens of thousands<\/a> of federal employees to resign in exchange for pay and benefits through September.<\/p>\n<p>OPM has already made its moves to fire probationary employees, commanding them to leave the office by 3 p.m. Thursday.
