While officials like House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer provided minimal responses, Governor Kathy Hochul expressed uncertainty about Adams’ integrity but refrained from acting against him, citing democratic principles. The DOJ’s order, linked to allegations against Adams involving⁤ bribery and campaign finance malfeasance, has raised concerns among fellow Democrats, with some⁤ suggesting a quid pro quo relationship between Adams and Trump.
