Riley Moore (R-WV) assured that Republicans in both the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/house-of-representatives\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">House of Representatives<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/section\/news\/senate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Senate<\/a> will cooperate in moving President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/donald-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Donald Trump&rsquo;s<\/a> agenda forward, in which &ldquo;mandatory spending&rdquo; will be reigned in.<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-paywall\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/senate\/3314278\/graham-plows-ahead-budget-blueprint-mike-johnson-objections\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Senate Republicans met with Trump at Mar-a-Lago on Friday<\/a>, ahead of which House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/house\/3313964\/johnson-tells-senate-house-trump-working-spending-plan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">asked Senate Republicans to &ldquo;allow the House to do its work&rdquo;<\/a> and craft &ldquo;one big, beautiful bill&rdquo; to enact Trump&rsquo;s vision for the nation. Amid this conflict between Republican lawmakers and their different priorities, Moore explained how he and other Republicans met at the White House for &ldquo;over four hours&rdquo; last week to map out the next steps lawmakers will take to work with the president.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I think we can do all of these things that we&rsquo;re discussing, and that&rsquo;s the idea here of doing one big, beautiful bill, as the president has called it, and we can reduce mandatory spending while also extending the Trump tax cuts,&rdquo; Moore said on Fox Business&rsquo;s <em>Mornings with Maria Bartiromo<\/em>. &ldquo;You&rsquo;re going to see SALT is going to be addressed in a bill like this, and so we can do all of these things.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 100%; max-width: 640px; max-height: 360px; min-width: 320px; min-height: 180px; overflow: hidden;\">\n<div style=\"position: relative; width: 100%; padding-top: 56.25%;\"><iframe src=\"https:\/\/share.grabien.com\/share.php?id=2794370&amp;userid=11311&amp;loginid=9421&amp;playercolor=%23000000&amp;playersize=auto&amp;code=1c0892d1c0a8f4e7e2936defb88706b0\" style=\"position: absolute; top: 0px; left: 0px; width: 100%; height: 100%; border: 0px;\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Moore&rsquo;s comment on SALT was in reference to state and local taxes, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/3284330\/lawler-optimistic-real-tax-relief-house-gop-salt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">in which Rep. Mike Lawler (R-NY) has stated that Trump has agreed with him<\/a> on needing to lift the current cap of $10,000.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The West Virginia Congressman also underscored how Republicans need to utilize its &ldquo;once in a lifetime&rdquo; moment of a unified government to address mandatory spending, which he claimed is the &ldquo;biggest driver in the nation&rsquo;s debt.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\"><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On the topic of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/tariffs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">tariffs<\/a>, Moore dismissed concerns that new tariffs on steel and aluminum, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/3315303\/trump-planning-new-tariffs-steel-aluminum-imports\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">which Trump indicated on Sunday he would announce soon<\/a>, would raise prices on goods that utilize these resources. He explained that Trump has used tariffs to &ldquo;leverage&rdquo; the United States to have better trade and aid automobile makers based in the U.S.<\/p>\n<p>Moore, <span style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\">a freshman lawmaker in Congress,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/finance-and-economy\/3297451\/freshman-republican-introduces-trump-reciprocal-tariff-bill\/\" target=\"_blank\">introduced the Reciprocal Trade Act last month.
