the ad&rsquo;s narrator says. &ldquo;Now we&rsquo;re facing a new threat, the expiration of the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which would mean higher taxes for you and our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/section\/news\/business\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">business community<\/a>, and would put the American dream further out of reach for so many of us.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"youtube-embed\" data-video_id=\"8rNLnhk7MMg\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"A Loud &amp; Clear Message from Latinos: No Tax Hikes,&rdquo; is part of a more expansive, seven-figure LIBRE Initiative campaign called &ldquo;Protecting Prosperity,&rdquo; which includes digital ads, grassroots events, and what the group is describing as a &ldquo;congressional accountability&rdquo; strategy.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Latino families have benefited tremendously from the tax relief provided by the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act,&rdquo; Sandra Benitez, LIBRE Initiative&rsquo;s executive director, told the <em>Washington Examiner<\/em>. &ldquo;From lower tax rates to expanded access to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/jobs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">jobs<\/a> and business opportunities, these provisions have helped foster a more vibrant and prosperous economy for families across the country.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act is poised to expire on Dec. 31 and, with it, its standard deduction, individual tax rates, the child tax credit, the state and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/sen-sanders-rips-one-of-democrats-proposed-tax-cuts-a-terrible-terrible-message\/\" title=\"Sen. Sanders Rips One Of Democrats\u2019 Proposed Tax Cuts: \u2018A Terrible, Terrible Message\u2019\">local tax deduction<\/a>, the estate and gift tax, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/exclusive-alfredo-ortiz-protect-taxpayers-and-the-economy-by-making-the-tax-cuts-and-jobs-act-permanent\/\" title=\"Exclusive\u2014Alfredo Ortiz: Protect Taxpayers and the Economy by Making the Tax Cuts and ... Permanent\">qualified business income deduction<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>When it comes to passing tax reform and Trump&rsquo;s other priorities, from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/border-crisis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">border security<\/a> to &ldquo;unleashing&rdquo; domestic <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/energy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">energy<\/a>, the president and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/speaker-of-the-house\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">House Speaker<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/mike-johnson\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Mike Johnson<\/a> (R-LA) would prefer one reconciliation bill, compared to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/section\/news\/senate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Senate<\/a> Majority Leader <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/john-thune\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">John Thune<\/a>&lsquo;s (R-SD) preference for two. Despite controlling both chambers of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/congress\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Congress<\/a> and reconciliation bills only requiring a simple majority, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/house-republicans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">House Republicans<\/a> cannot agree on a proposal, even after spending five hours with Trump at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/section\/news\/white-house\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">White House<\/a> last week, while the Senate is prepared to introduce its own measure.<\/p>\n<p>Trump won last year&rsquo;s election against former Vice President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/kamala-harris\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Kamala Harris<\/a>, in part, because he increased his support among Latinos.
