While a lawsuit attempting to keep DOGE out of the data from the Labor Department was dismissed, another U.S. district judge ruled against DOGE accessing the U.S. Treasury.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We&lsquo;re working&nbsp;with [Musk and his team] at the president&lsquo;s&nbsp;direction to find what we can do&nbsp;to make our department much more&nbsp;efficient. So, I think it&lsquo;s&nbsp;important,&rdquo; Noem said on CNN News&rsquo;s <em>State of the Union.<\/em> &ldquo;This is essentially&nbsp;an audit of the federal&nbsp;government, which is&nbsp;very powerful and needs to happen.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/3292730\/all-executive-orders-actions-trump-first-day\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">FULL LIST OF EXECUTIVE ORDERS, ACTIONS, AND PROCLAMATIONS TRUMP HAS MADE AS PRESIDENT<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I&nbsp;remember a time when Republicans&nbsp;were very careful about and&nbsp;worried about the government,&nbsp;particularly unelected people, having access to personal data,&rdquo; host Dana Bash said. <\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 100%; max-width: 640px; max-height: 360px; min-width: 320px; min-height: 180px; overflow: hidden;\">\n<div style=\"position: relative; width: 100%; padding-top: 56.25%;\"><iframe src=\"https:\/\/share.grabien.com\/share.php?id=2793686&amp;userid=11311&amp;loginid=10455&amp;playercolor=%23000000&amp;playersize=auto&amp;code=ba9b3ba48cabaeea6902721e7700be12\" style=\"position: absolute; top: 0px; left: 0px; width: 100%; height: 100%; border: 0px;\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>&ldquo;But Elon Musk is part of&nbsp;the administration that is&nbsp;helping us identify where we can&nbsp;find savings and what we can do.&nbsp;And he has gone through the&nbsp;processes to make sure that he&nbsp;has the authority the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/president\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">president<\/a>&nbsp;has granted him,&rdquo; Noem said. &ldquo;His information that&nbsp;he has is looking at programs,&nbsp;not focusing on personal data&nbsp;and information.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Not focusing on it, but he has access to it?&rdquo; Bash asked.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;You&nbsp;know, we&lsquo;ll be continuing to&nbsp;talk to him about what all he&nbsp;has access to,&rdquo; Noem said. &ldquo;But this audit needs to happen to make sure that we are going through a process that adds integrity to these programs.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong><\/strong><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>DHS notably encompasses the Federal Emergency Management Agency, which often includes personal data from victims of natural disasters.
