Snyder showed up for his obligation in October 2023, he said he couldn&rsquo;t ethically serve as a grand juror, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/02\/04\/us-news\/petersburgh-town-justice-richard-snyder-resigns-after-shocking-comments\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York Post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The reason?<\/p>\n<p>As a judge by profession, he couldn&rsquo;t remain impartial because everyone who appeared in his court was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/letter-schumer-just-got-trumps-doj-probably-asked-biden-pardon\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">guilty<\/a>, Snyder reportedly said, according to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/court-says-watchdog-that-forced-cuomo-to-forfeit-book-profits-was-unconstitutional\/\" title=\"... declares watchdog that compelled Cuomo to surrender book earnings as unconstitutional\">state commission investigating<\/a> the incident.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I know everybody come in front of me. But they&rsquo;re not guilty &lsquo;til they come to court. They&rsquo;re innocent &rsquo;til proven guilty,&rdquo; he said, ABC reported.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;They did something wrong. That&rsquo;s why they got a ticket. But they&rsquo;re not guilty,&rdquo; he added.<\/p>\n<p>Snyder had worked as a judge since 2014.<\/p>\n<p>If not for this incident, which led to his resigning on Dec. 31, his current judicial term would have concluded at the end of 2025, according to the New York Post.<\/p>\n<p>In a deal with the commission, Snyder agreed to never serve as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/robbery-suspect-freed-weak-judge-30-min-sex-assaults-3-women-2-girls-police\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a judge<\/a> again, according to ABC News.<\/p>\n<p>Commission Administrator Robert Tembeckjian expressed disappointment with Snyder&rsquo;s conduct.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;It is bad enough that a judge would seek to avoid such a fundamental civic responsibility as jury service.
