Washington Attorney General Nick Brown has filed a multi-state&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/agportal-s3bucket.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com\/Washington_v._Trump_GAC.pdf?VersionId=Hjxqlh.9GvxVwwcaJaubFhmUT4mS_0GS\">lawsuit<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;against President Donald Trump&rsquo;s executive order banning gender reassignment procedures, such as mastectomies and puberty blockers, on children.<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-paywall\">\n<p>Trump&rsquo;s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/presidential-actions\/2025\/01\/protecting-children-from-chemical-and-surgical-mutilation\/\"><strong>EO<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;states that &ldquo;it is the policy of the United States that it will not fund, sponsor, promote, assist, or support the so-called &lsquo;transition&rsquo; of a child from one sex to another, and it will rigorously enforce all laws that prohibit or limit these destructive and life-altering procedures.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Brown argued at a Feb. 7 news&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/tvw.org\/video\/attorney-general-nick-brown-press-conference-2025021300\/?eventID=2025021300\">conference<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;that the EO was not only &ldquo;disgusting,&rdquo; but it was illegal for violating the Fifth and Tenth Amendments to the U.S. Constitution.<\/p>\n<p>Brown also said that the EO &ldquo;promotes harassment and discrimination against people that are already marginalized. It risks their literal health and safety, and that of their providers.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Last year, nonprofit Do No Harm unveiled a database of gender reassignment procedures carried out nationwide, reporting that Seattle Children&rsquo;s Hospital was among the top&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecentersquare.com\/washington\/article_a2ec1a26-8654-11ef-8f0a-7f524b86534a.html\">providers<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;for procedures in the country.
