The disastrous results were pretty predictable. (Courtesy: Albany County District Attorney&rsquo;s office)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>His mission is to train an elite&nbsp;team of prosecutors, support&nbsp;staff, and investigators to be rock-solid in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/courts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the cases<\/a>&nbsp;they prosecute and then trust them to make sound decisions.<\/p>\n<p>Kindlon, who has been on the job for about a month, is part of a wave of Democratic prosecutors who made a conscious shift to the middle. <\/p>\n<p>Gone are the days of letting crime slide in the name of reform. This new group of district attorneys and state attorneys are acutely&nbsp;aware the public doesn&rsquo;t feel safe and that some communities have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/pragmatic-prosecutors-albanys-top-cop-preaches-strategic-corporal\/\" title=\"Pragmatic Prosecutors: ...&#039;s top cop preaches &#039;strategic corporal&#039;\">deep-rooted trust problems<\/a> with law enforcement. Striking the right balance is key, he told the&nbsp;<em>Washington Examiner<\/em>&nbsp;in a <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">wide-ranging interview &#038;mdash<\/a>;&nbsp;and he is big on accountability.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/crime\/3308411\/pragmatic-prosecutors-albany-lee-kindlon-targets-drugs-guns\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Read the full story here.<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Alameda County: New district attorney vows to remake troubled office<\/h2>\n<p>In November, frustrated residents&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/3211752\/alameda-county-da-pamela-price-inept-dangerous-recall\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">recalled&nbsp;<\/a>Alameda County&rsquo;s&nbsp;then-District Attorney Pamela Price, one of the country&rsquo;s most progressive prosecutors.&nbsp;Price was bankrolled by liberal megadonor George Soros.<\/p>\n<p>Under her watch, thousands of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/crime\/3184482\/california-county-drops-1000-criminal-cases\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">cases were dropped<\/a>&nbsp;after her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/alameda-countys-newest-da-vows-to-remake-troubled-office\/\" title=\"Alameda ...&#039;s newest DA vows to ...\">office missed filing deadlines<\/a>. There were countless others it simply chose not to proceed with.&nbsp;Then came the widespread complaints that the district attorney&rsquo;s office shut its doors to victims, refused to hear their concerns, or didn&rsquo;t keep them updated on case development. Her office was repeatedly accused of prioritizing the rights of criminals in the&nbsp;name of reform.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/crime\/3313214\/newsom-faces-pressure-california-gop-fund-crime-reform-mandate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">NEWSOM FACES PRESSURE FROM CALIFORNIA GOP TO FUND CRIME REFORM &lsquo;MANDATE&rsquo;<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Price&rsquo;s recall was a huge blow to the type of criminal justice reform she championed and sent a strong message that the community wasn&rsquo;t going to put up with prosecutors who turned a blind eye to them.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ballotpedia.org\/Ursula_Jones_Dickson\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Judge Ursula Jones Dickson<\/a>, the county&rsquo;s newest district attorney, was among 15 candidates in the running to be its top officer &mdash; and she was uniquely qualified. She worked as a deputy district attorney in the county for 15 years before spending the next dozen as a superior court judge. She was appointed in 2013 by then-Gov.
