This \u200coversight may have hindered air traffic control&#8217;s\u2064 ability too monitor the aircraft with greater accuracy. Cruz \u2062asserted that since the flight was a training mission, there was no valid national security \u200bjustification for the system being offline. The accident, which resulted in the deaths of 67 people, is\u2063 considered the worst\u200c commercial airline disaster in the U.S.since\u2062 2009. He \u2064emphasized the need for thorough \u200cinquiry and analysis to prevent future incidents. Any time there is an aviation accident, especially one involving a loss of life, they engage in a serious and thorough investigation, as they should. And what happened with this accident was tragic and catastrophic,&rdquo; Cruz added.<\/p>\n<p>The FAA describes the tracking system as &ldquo;an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/china-elon-musk-moving-into-xinjiang-proves-american-anti-slavery-push-failed\/\" title=\"China: Elon Musk Moving into Xinjiang Proves American Anti-Slavery Push Failed\">advanced surveillance technology<\/a> that combines an aircraft&rsquo;s positioning source, aircraft avionics, and a ground infrastructure to create an accurate surveillance interface between aircraft and ATC.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The accident killed 67 people and was the worst commercial airline accident in the United States since 2009.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Sixty-seven souls lost their lives. We need to follow the evidence. We need to determine exactly what caused it,&rdquo; he added. &ldquo;And then we need to learn lessons from the cause of that accident. Do everything possible to prevent a subsequent accident.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>NTSB Chairwoman Jennifer Homendy said Thursday that the crew of the helicopter were wearing night-vision goggles.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\"><strong><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We do believe, given the mission and given what we&rsquo;ve heard or not heard on the CVR (cockpit voice recorder) that they were wearing night-vision goggles,&rdquo; Homendy said.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities said Thursday that all &ldquo;major wreckage components&rdquo; have been recovered from the Potomac River, including the military helicopter.
