This change follows growing concerns among female athletes about the impact of male participation in \u200cwomen&#8217;s sports, which they \u2062argue \u200dis unfair and detrimental\u200c to their opportunities and \u2063safety. <\/p>\n<p>The shift was influenced by public stories from\u200d female athletes, such as\u200b NCAA volleyball captain Sia Liilii,\u200b who protested against competing against a team with a transgender player.President Donald Trump also played a crucial role by signing an executive order \u200baimed at safeguarding women&#8217;s sports from male\u2062 participation,\u200b citing\u200b reasons of safety and fairness. <\/p>\n<p>Criticism of transgender athletes in women&#8217;s sports has become a heated topic, with incidents at various levels, including college swimming\u2064 and high school volleyball, raising alarms about \u200cthe implications for female athletes&#8217; rights and safety. The reversal\u2064 of the NCAA \u2064policy illustrates a\u2062 meaningful change in response to mounting pressure\u200d and testimonies from women impacted by the previous policy.\u200d <\/p>\n<p>the article underscores an ongoing cultural and political debate regarding gender identity and biological sex in competitive sports,highlighting a call for more protection and recognition for \u200bfemale \u200dathletes.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The National Collegiate Athletic Association announced an about-face on its 2022 &ldquo;participation policy&rdquo; for transgender-identifying athletes this week: No longer are men allowed to self-identify their way into women&rsquo;s sports.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The new policy limits competition in women&rsquo;s sports to student-athletes assigned female at birth only,&rdquo; the NCAA said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncaa.org\/news\/2025\/2\/6\/media-center-ncaa-announces-transgender-student-athlete-participation-policy-change.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">press release<\/a>, forced to acknowledge the genetic differences between men and women while bitterly clinging to the <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">anti-science trans-speak &#038;ldquo<\/a>;assigned at birth,&rdquo; as if chromosomal makeup is arbitrary. <\/p>\n<p>Regardless of the continued language manipulation, however, the policy change stands &mdash; and it&rsquo;s a direct result of female athletes demonstrating the myriad ways male athletes have harmed them, plus a strong leader in the White House who is willing to listen and act.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, just one day before the NCAA policy reversal, President Donald Trump signed an executive order (titled simply &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/presidential-actions\/2025\/02\/keeping-men-out-of-womens-sports\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Keeping Men Out Of Women&rsquo;s Sports<\/a>&ldquo;) that stripped all funding from educational programs that let men and boys infiltrate women&rsquo;s and girls&rsquo; athletics. &ldquo;It shall also be the policy of the United States to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/promise-kept-trump-signs-executive-order-banning-men-from-womens-sports\/\" title=\"Promise Kept: Trump Signs ... Banning ... from Wo...&#039;s ...\">oppose male competitive participation<\/a> in women&rsquo;s sports more broadly,&rdquo; the order reads, not only for reasons of &ldquo;safety&rdquo; and &ldquo;fairness,&rdquo; but also to preserve &ldquo;dignity, and truth.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The NCAA allowing males to compete against females &ldquo;is demeaning, unfair, and dangerous to women and girls, and denies women and girls the equal opportunity to participate and excel in competitive sports,&rdquo; Trump&rsquo;s order says.<\/p>\n<p>The president is clearly listening to the many brave women who have risked their reputations and much more to share their stories of discrimination and danger. One of these women, NCAA Division 1 athlete Sia Liilii, then the captain of the University of Nevada, Reno, women&rsquo;s volleyball team, led her teammates in protesting and then forfeiting a game against San Jose State University&rsquo;s women&rsquo;s team because it included a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/this-s-has-to-stop-comedian-rob-schneider-says-stop-making-girls-compete-against-trans-identifying-men\/\" title=\"\u2018This S*** Has To Stop\u2019: Comedian Rob Schneider Says Stop Making ... ... Against Trans-Identifying ...\">trans-identifying male player<\/a>. As IW Features <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iwfeatures.com\/documentary\/sia-liilii\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">highlights<\/a> in a documentary about Liilii&rsquo;s experience, her school refused to support its own women&rsquo;s team.<\/p>\n<figure>\n<p><span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Hold the Line: College Volleyball Team Captain Stands Firm Against Male Opponent\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/HOiFQI-RNrU?start=2&amp;enablejsapi=1#038;feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><\/span> <\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>During the 2022 season, swimmers for the University of Pennsylvania were forced to change in the same locker room as their infamous male teammate Lia Thomas. One swimmer, Paula Scanlan, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iwfeatures.com\/profile\/from-athletics-to-activism-paula-scanlan-isnt-afraid-to-rock-the-boat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">told IW Features<\/a> that this was especially traumatic for her, as she &ldquo;had joined UPenn&rsquo;s swim team to heal emotionally after she was sexually assaulted in a bathroom at the age of 16.&rdquo; <\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;In a lot of ways, my experience of being assaulted helped me see very quickly what was so wrong about having to undress in front of and be teammates with a male,&rdquo; Scanlan told IW Features. &ldquo;It opened me up to seeing this situation on my swim team for what it was &mdash; I understood going through something that was unjust, I understood the feeling of your voice being drowned out by a million people.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The problem of males in female sports extends beyond the NCAA. Other athletic organizations such as the Ladies Professional Golf Association have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iwfeatures.com\/documentary\/lauren-miller\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">destroyed women&rsquo;s competition<\/a> by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lpga.com\/gender-policy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">permitting<\/a> male participation. Boys victimizing girls in their own sports also begins much earlier than college and the pro leagues. Just ask Payton McNabb, who during a high school volleyball match suffered a traumatic brain injury thanks to a high-powered spike from a trans-identifying opponent.<\/p>\n<p>As IW Features <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iwfeatures.com\/documentary\/payton-mcnabb\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">detailed<\/a>, a &ldquo;medical evaluation revealed that the ball&rsquo;s impact caused neurological impairments, including a concussion, vision problems, and partial paralysis to the right side of her body. The year following her traumatic brain injury, was full of &lsquo;blank spaces&rsquo; that she&rsquo;ll never remember, McNabb said.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The NCAA reversal would never have been possible without female victims documenting the many ways men have destroyed their sacred athletic spaces and physically harmed them. But some of these women have been telling their stories for years. The high-profile dustup between Lia Thomas and opponent Riley Gaines occurred in 2022, for instance. So what&rsquo;s changed?<\/p>\n<p>Then-President Joe Biden wasn&rsquo;t just an impotent leader. He actively cheered men taking over women&rsquo;s private spaces, from sports and locker rooms to prisons and bathrooms. He issued biology-defying executive orders and celebrated &ldquo;transgender visibility&rdquo; days. When a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/bidens-anti-christian-easter-stunt-leaves-no-doubt-about-democrats-descent-into-paganism\/\" title=\"Biden&#039;s Easter Action Sparks Concerns About Democratic Shift Away From Christian Values\">trans-identifying shooter murdered<\/a> six people in cold blood at a Christian school in Nashville, Biden exploited the tragedy to <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/04\/02\/the-biden-white-house-is-uninterested-in-honoring-the-nashville-shooting-victims\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">praise<\/a> the &ldquo;joy, strength, and absolute courage [of] transgender and nonbinary Americans.&rdquo; He championed all the wrong things.<\/p>\n<p>It&rsquo;s about time we have a leader like Trump back in the Oval Office, once again listening to the everyday victims of men in ladyface. And what do you know?
