We will not hold them,&rdquo; East Hampton Village Police Chief Jeffrey Erickson said at a community meeting on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>East Hampton Town Police Chief Michael Sarlo said effectively the same thing at a different meeting.<\/p>\n<p> <script type=\"text\/javascript\"> \t\t\tif ( getCookie( \"ff_subbed\" ) ) { \t\t\t\tdocument.getElementById(\"stnvideo\").remove() \t\t\t} \t\t<\/script> <\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Our level of participation and cooperation with ICE lies in criminal matters,&rdquo; Sarlo said. &ldquo;I haven&rsquo;t seen an ICE agent in this town in I can&rsquo;t tell you how long.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Sarlo did add, however, that local police do not make a habit of <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">violently confronting armed federal agents<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In other words, police in sanctuary cities cannot assist ICE, but neither do they actively resist ICE&rsquo;s efforts. Thus, sanctuary cities themselves constitute the real problem here.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-dr-phil-tom-homan-personally-rounding-illegals-bring-child-sex-predator\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tom Homan<\/a>, President Donald Trump&rsquo;s border czar, made that clear last month when he complained that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/sanctuary-cities-ignored-ice-to-free-22000-criminal-migrants-washington-examiner\/\" title=\"\u2018...\u2019 ignored ... to free 22,000 criminal migrants - Washington Examiner\">sanctuary cities&#038;rsquo<\/a>; policies make ICE agents&rsquo; jobs exponentially more dangerous.<\/p>\n<p>East Hampton&rsquo;s affluent liberals, however, could not care less about ICE agents&rsquo; safety or about federal immigration laws. After all, those liberals need cheap maids and landscapers.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I think it&rsquo;s a very good idea and very helpful considering we have a very large community here, and people rely on them,&rdquo; East Hampton resident Alex Lovett said.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zillow.com\/home-values\/829615\/east-hampton-ny\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Zillow<\/a>, the average home price in East Hampton is $1.92 million.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.census.gov\/quickfacts\/fact\/table\/easthamptontownsuffolkcountynewyork\/PST045224\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">U.S. Census Bureau<\/a>, that wealthy enclave nonetheless maintains a poverty rate of 11.5 percent. How many of those impoverished people work as maids and landscapers?<\/p>\n<p>Of course, Democrats have given no indication that they feel any shame about the slave-like wages they pay their domestic servants.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, they talk openly about how much they need illegal immigrants to pick berries for their fruity drinks.<\/p>\n<p>Do you think this an exaggeration? If so, watch what Democrat strategist Jenna Arnold had to say on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/rep-jasmine-crockett-goes-ugly-racist-rant-white-tears-gets-zero-pushback-cnn-anchor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CNN<\/a> last month.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I can&rsquo;t wait until American women can&rsquo;t get blueberries for their smoothies,&rdquo; Arnold said in a clip posted to the social media platform X.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Democrats say the quiet part out loud: Democrats believe we need to pay illegal immigrants illegal wages because <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/democrats-urge-americans-to-stay-home-in-january-knowing-no-one-would-show-up-for-a-stolen-inauguration\/\" title=\"... James Hammond of South Carolina, in an address known to history as the &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/digital.lib.niu.edu\/islandora\/object\/niu-lincoln%3A35455\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">King Cotton<\/a>&rdquo; speech, effectively dared his Northern colleagues to make war on slavery, for the South, he said, would then deprive them of that valuable commodity, without which much of Northern industry would grind to a halt.<\/p>\n<p>In other words, without slaves, who would pick the cotton?<\/p>\n<p>Three years later, of course, President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trumps-stance-abortion-follows-example-lincoln-set-abolition\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Abraham Lincoln<\/a> called King Cotton&rsquo;s bluff. And the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/nikki-haley-receives-backlash-word-salad-civil-war-campaign-stop\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Civil War<\/a> settled the argument for good.<\/p>\n<p>Secondly, affluent liberals who tout slave-like labor almost certainly will never repent.<\/p>\n<p>Unless you spend many years researching and teaching Early American History, you probably cannot appreciate the sheer volume of memoirs published by affluent (or once-affluent) former Confederates in the postwar years.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/docsouth.unc.edu\/fpn\/branch\/branch.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Women<\/a> &mdash; former plantation mistresses &mdash; wrote a significant number of those tracts.
