This demand followed the release of the interview transcript, which \u200cTrump claims has been manipulated \u200cto exclude Harris&#8217;s\u200c controversial responses, labeling the \u200bsituation as &#8220;election interference.&#8221;\u200b Trump suggested\u2064 that \u2063CBS&#8217;s actions warrant the loss of \u200dits broadcasting license and criticized the network for potentially\u200c receiving government funding.<\/p>\n<p>The White\u2063 House press secretary also addressed concerns about taxpayer dollars being used to subsidize media outlets like Politico.\u200d CBS has defended \u2064its editorial \u200ddecisions,stating that any edits \u200cmade\u2062 were \u2062for\u2062 reasons of\u200b time,space,or clarity. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/white-house-announces-doge-canceling-payments-politico\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">over $8 million in taxpayer dollars was used &ldquo;subsidizing subscriptions to <em>Politico<\/em> on the American taxpayers&rsquo; dime<\/a>&rdquo; and that this would be halted via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/opinion\/columnists\/3312999\/making-sense-war-doge\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">the Department of Government Efficiency<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\"><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Trump has long accused CBS and <em>60 Minutes <\/em>of editing their interview with Harris, with the president even suing CBS for $10 billion. The network has maintained that it made edits for the reasons it always does, &ldquo;for time, space, or clarity.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, <em>60 Minutes<\/em> provided the transcript to the Federal Communications Commission, which is investigating the matter.
