Federal agencies conducted raids in the Denver metro area on Wednesday, The Center Square&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecentersquare.com\/colorado\/article_e2c2cd4a-e3ef-11ef-a904-8325d18ef535.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/oversight.house.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/Sanctuary-City-Doc-Request-and-Witness-Invite-Denver.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">letter<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;from House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, a Republican from Kentucky, requested all documents and communications from Denver employees and contractors relating to the city&rsquo;s sanctuary status dating back to Jan. 1, 2024.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Sanctuary jurisdictions and their misguided and obstructionist policies hinder the ability of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/hypocrisy-trump-team-shows-videos-of-democrat-lawmakers-during-impeachment-trial\/\" title=\"\u2018Hypocrisy:\u2019 Trump Team Shows Videos of Democrat ...makers During Impeachment Trial\">federal law enforcement officers<\/a> to effectuate safe arrests and remove dangerous criminals from American communities, making Americans less safe,&rdquo; the letter said. &ldquo;Denver is a sanctuary jurisdiction that refuses to fully cooperate with federal immigration enforcement.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Johnston said in an<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/denverite.com\/2024\/11\/20\/denver-immigration-policies-donald-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">interview<\/a><\/strong><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>in November that Denver police would be &ldquo;stationed at the county line to keep [federal immigration agencies] out,&rdquo; but walked the comments back in a subsequent interview. The mayor also said he would join protests if the federal government violated immigrants&rsquo; rights.<\/p>\n<p>In 2019, Democratic Colorado Gov. Jared Polis signed a bill into law that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/supreme-court-allows-block-of-missouri-gun-law-to-remain-in-effect\/\" title=\"Missouri Gun ...
