In response to the video, Gill expressed on social \u200dmedia that \u200cAmerica would\u2062 be better \u2062off if Omar were sent back to Somalia, were she emigrated as a \u2062refugee in\u2063 1995. Omar defended her statements, arguing \u2062that individuals should exercise their \u200blegal rights,\u200c including the\u200b right to remain silent when\u2063 questioned by law\u200d enforcement, and criticized Gill and others for misunderstanding\u200b U.S. law. Just state that you were advised by a lawyer not to answer questions,&rdquo; Omar told the reporter.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Disclosure of your name, immigration status, and the mode of entry is not mandatory.
