When they heard cries of &#8220;active shooter,&#8221; they instinctively \u200crushed to confront the \u2062threat.They \u2062joined another individual who was \u2063already \u200bsubduing the shooter,Dennis Erwin Brandl Jr.,\u2063 an 83-year-old man\u200b who believed he was being chased. The\u2063 fathers worked together to disarm\u2062 Brandl and secure him untill law \u2062enforcement\u2062 arrived. I finally got it free,&rdquo; Curow added.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Then, I went ahead and cleared the pistol and kept it in my hand. I put the pistol behind my back. That way it was secured, and no one has to grab it or utilize it.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The suspect in the shooting was Dennis Erwin Brandl Jr., an 83-year-old who told police he thought that he was being chased and that someone was trying to kill him and his wife.<\/p>\n<p>One man was injured during the encounter, but no one else was harmed.<\/p>\n<p>It&rsquo;s no wonder why these dads felt capable <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/55-year-old-school-worker-goes-hunting-fired-superintendent-shooting-deer-field\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">leaping<\/a> into action.<\/p>\n<p>Trevino is a 13-year Air Force veteran, Curow is a 14-year Army veteran, Castillo is a four-year Marine Corps veteran, and Sanchez is a longtime Houston police officer.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We kind of knew what we were doing, and we did it,&rdquo; Currow said.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I think anybody with our collective backgrounds would do that.
