Doug Burgum to run the Department of the Interior. <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/01\/15\/climate-protestors-disrupt-chris-wright-hearing-for-energy-secretary\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Wright<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/01\/16\/doug-burgum-pledges-to-restore-responsible-land-management-to-interior-department\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Burgum<\/a> both pledged in confirmation hearings to deliver on President Donald Trump&rsquo;s demands that the United States reclaim global hegemony through the use of the nation&rsquo;s abundant underground resources, which had been locked up by Democrat predecessors. The new president <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/01\/21\/trump-declares-energy-emergency-to-reverse-bidens-assault-on-u-s-power-production\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">declared<\/a> an &ldquo;energy emergency&rdquo; and signed at least six executive orders within his first 24 hours back in office that gave instructions for federal agencies to unleash American power production.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We will achieve Energy Dominance by sustainably developing our natural resources while championing clean air and clean water, protecting our most beautiful lands, and expanding outdoor recreation!&rdquo; Burgum wrote in an online <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/DougBurgum\/status\/1885792406269727166\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">post<\/a> after taking his own oath. &ldquo;We will strengthen our mission of enhancing the quality of life, promoting economic opportunities, and empowering our Tribal partners through mutual respect, open communication, collaboration, and a sincere willingness to listen.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Wright and Burgum will work hand-in-hand to usher in President Trump&rsquo;s &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/01\/20\/7-highlights-from-trumps-inauguration-address-the-golden-age-of-america-begins-right-now\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">golden age of America<\/a>&rdquo; with an unapologetic energy agenda that unshackles oil and gas producers from years of onerous regulations designed to keep key resources from extraction. <\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We will be a rich nation again, and it is that liquid gold under our feet that will help to do it,&rdquo; Trump said in his second inaugural address last month. <\/p>\n<p>Republican promises to harness the nation&rsquo;s full resources will bring relief to power producers and consumers burdened by the last administration&rsquo;s zealous anti-fossil fuel agenda, which Interior Secretary Deb Haaland implemented. Granholm Pleads with Fossil Fuel Executives to Up Production\">fossil fuel executive<\/a>) <a href=\"https:\/\/rollcall.com\/2025\/01\/15\/wright-promises-to-unleash-american-energy-as-doe-head\/\">wants<\/a> to expand the nation&rsquo;s electrical capacity and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/energy\/trumps-energy-department-pick-call-more-lng-nuclear-power-2025-01-15\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">promote<\/a> the development of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/white-house-releases-list-of-president-trumps-accomplishments-and-it-is-historic\/\" title=\"White House Releases List of ... Trump\u2019s Accomplishments \u2013  And It Is Historic!\">liquefied natural gas<\/a> in addition to small nuclear reactors.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;To compete globally, we must expand energy production, including commercial nuclear and liquefied natural gas, and cut the cost of energy for Americans,&rdquo; Wright told lawmakers in January. <\/p>\n<p>Advocates of cheap and reliable energy, such as Daniel Turner, the founder and executive director of the energy nonprofit Power the Future, greeted Wright&rsquo;s nomination with enthusiasm.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;American families will benefit from having Chris Wright, who has first-hand experience as a producer, leading an energy policy that finally puts them first,&rdquo; Turner said in a statement last month. &ldquo;Mr. Wright has a deep understanding of our energy landscape and fully appreciates how energy security delivers national security.
